In a poll that has attracted almost 3,000 votes more than 90% of Celtic fans want to return to home fans only at the Glasgow Derby.

Last Sunday, for the first time since May 2018 more than 800 away fans were inside Celtic Park for the fixture turning it into a very unpleasant experience inside and outside the stadium.

The move had been heavily pushed and promoted in legacy media but the reality of it was felt by Celtic Season Ticket holders.

To the surprise of none of the home fans the songs of hate and poison poured out of the away end headlined by singing of The Billy Boys, which was banned by UEFA in 2006. No police action for those involved has been announced.

Around Celtic Park the event turned into a nightmare regarding segregation centred on the decision to kettle some fans on London Road for five hours.

That had knock on effects from 10.30am onwards on a key route to the stadium. Cars and buses had to find alternative routes with the area east of the stadium barely able to cope with routine traffic never mind overspill.

What ticket allocation should away fans get to the Glasgow Derby?

None- the only option

2,400- Sunday was great

Despite the hype before the match there has been no comment from either club or the SPFL about the ‘success’ of Sunday’s match.

Celtic are due to get around 2,000 tickets for the post-split fixture at Ibrox, after that there will be an expectation on Michael Nicholson to decide on whether the arrangement continues.

If the decision is to continue with 2,400 away fans inside Celtic Park then the CEO is effectively backing the songs of hate that polluted the air last Sunday.

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.

Sevco Hun Hoards are most certainly fuckin well not –

But I get the just of it !

  • Bob (original) says:

The Board should just tell sevco to keep their away tickets,

as a precursor to announcing the withholding of away tickets to Celtic Park.

It’s just not worth the trouble.

  • Wee Jock says:

Ironic that it was them uns who started the banning and reduced allocations which spread to most of the top league clubs, and now we have to demand our board to ban them. Get them to ****. I’d prefer to go to Celtic Park in safety and enjoy the occasion than have a chance to visit Ipox. I was there with the 750 allocation and it was the worst experience at a football match in nearly 60 years.

  • Terence Nova says:

WHY do we allow them in ??…The financial benefits are surely not worth the bother…so I repeat….WHY…??…And if our Board ignore this backlash…you will get proof positive of what they think of us…Although I’ve already worked that one out…They are not fit for purpose.
