For the fourth round of fixtures full-time VAR official won’t be on duty this weekend.
Andrew Dallas, another of the three full-time VAR officials will cover the Aberdeen v St Johnstone match on Saturday then follow that with the Dundee derby the following day.
Muir hasn’t been given any fixtures since he covered the Hibs v Celtic match on February 22.
During that match he informed referee Steven McLean to disallow a ‘goal’ from Daizen Maeda claiming a factual mistake with the ball being out of play.
There was no evidence to back that up, the audio revealed that Muir was on a mission to disallow the goal, over-ruling his assistant Ross McLeod who repeatedly say that it was inconclusive.
Thirteen days after the match the incident was covered in the VAR Review, Willie Collum offered no explanation for Muir’s action and didn’t discuss his follow up.
Now it seems clear that Muir is serving some sort of suspension, whether he returns won’t be known, it seems the SFA has no wish to draw further attention to the issue.
He has been left out for three rounds of SPFL Premiership fixtures plus the Scottish Cup quarter-finals. Following the fixtures on March 22 and 23 there is an international break, the next round of fixtures appear the most likely to bring Muir back into the fold, or else.
Greg Aitken is the other full-time VAR official, Muir was appointed by Collum at the start of this season.
If there is one person who should not ever have a whistle in his mouth on a football field, it is Steven McLean.
An absolute beamer of a beacon!
Billy Liar, can’t be trusted,I keep saying it hate repeating myself,Sack him,any other job he would be out the door
What is Columb waiting for a full moon.
Just wait ’til our Club demands a full explanation for this absence…I’m positive that will be followed by a demand that Muir never handles a game involving us…ever again…Oh sorry…did I say our Club..??…What a plonker I am…SILENCE IS GOLDEN.
Cheating Hun Bastard!! Scottish Fitbaws a JOKE, Wish tae Fuk we cd get oot ae it!!
Just more dishonesty from the SFA?
IF Muir is under a suspension, then that should be made public.
He is well paid to perform a role at a public event,
and the paying customers deserve to know what action was taken for poor match officiating?
McLean, Beaton and Stewart then…
One fuckin formidable team then –
For Sevco of course and The Scummy’s of The Scummy Scottish Football Media !
