BBC Scotland has decided to avoid any mention to the emergency loan taken out from MacQuarie Bank by the club that occupies so much of their time.
On Monday Companies House announced that £5.3m of loans had been converted to shares, yesterday a 31 page document was on the Companies House website detailing the loan taken out which provides an advance with two transfer fee instalments now going straight to an Australian Bank.
Neither story graces the football pages of BBC Scotland or are included in their forever hopeful gossip page where they round up the most optimistic stories for the welfare of their own staff.
Celtic’s achievement of overtaking the self declared Most Successful Club in the World in December was also side stepped by the state broadcaster. #title55 is likely to require grief counselling for many staff at Pacific Quay with annual leave requests peaking for the first week in April.
With staffing and resources that outstrip the combined manpower of all other legacy media outlets in Scotland there is no excuses for the BBC to avoid the bad news from Ibrox unless they are taking their public service remit too far.
Six stories feature on the homepage including a headline from the Queens Park v Partick Thistle match while the elephant in the room gets restless.
According to the state broadcaster the most newsworthy stories this morning were:
RB Leipzig boss Marco Rose, who has also coached Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Monchengladbach, has been added to the list of managers Rangers are interested in. (The Scotsman),?external
One of the key investors in the prospective takeover of Rangers originally wanted to buy another Rangers – Queens Park Rangers of the Championship. (Scottish Sun),?external
Celtic transfer target Mathias Kvistgaarden could be set to miss out on Brondby’s final league game of the season after being forced off early into his side’s loss to Randers on Monday night. (The Scotsman)
During a telephone call to inform him he was being sacked, CEO Patrick Stewart told coach Alex Rae he was welcome to watch games at Rangers as a guest of the club – but the former midfielder said he wouldn’t take up the invitation as he has two season tickets in the Broomloan Road. (GoRadio via Scottish Sun),?external
Rae says Philippe Clement’s “attention to detail was second to none” and that he has “a huge amount of respect” for the former Rangers manager. (GoRadio via The Herald)
So the second biggest club in Scotland needing to take out a corporate pay day loan to ease cash flow issues doesn’t rate a mention with BBC Scotland.
The will of course be providing blanket radio and online coverage of Thursday’s Europa League tie at Ibrox with a cast of around 20 expected on the Ibrox gantry.
Kenny Macintyre and Alasdair Lamont will be the chief cheerleaders, expert summaries will be provided by Rory Loy and Cammy Bell with a variety of Ibrox podcasters lined up for that authentic fan’s perspective that will apparently be missing from the BBC team.
There will also be numerous sound engineers and technicians specially trained to omit the songs of hate bounding around the four stands.
Tom English is continuing to provide outstanding coverage of the egg-chasing which no commercial outlet in Scotland bothers with.

When they are in total denial the BBC that is,there must be some serious stuff coming down the pipe,at least other press outlets are highlighting it actually took place about the bank looking for cash, even though it was part sugar-coated.
It still makes no sense why the yanks want to buy that klub when it is burning through money like that, just how or when do the FAKE new investors get their cash back.
In total of buying the klub the debt, paying of shareholders, getting shot of the players that are there just now, having to bring numerous new players and a manager with his coaching team, improvements to stadium,a total cost must be around £300 million mot much change from that.
THE FAKEOVER AIN’T HAPPENING ANYTIME SOON.
Mmmm. Anyone ever see a film called ‘Wall Street’, which explains in golden retriever what corporate raiders aim to do with distressed businesses? Could it possibly be that someone whose wealth was made in the US private health insurance sector and whose family name is derived from “Caomhánach“ might not have staunch blue blood coursing through their veins and a burning desire to divest themselves of their own personal fortune just to restore Sevco to the top of the fitba’ universe? I love a good plot twist in a book or a film but that’s a long shot…… and this shady-looking deal is all that’s on the table. If this falls through you’ll hear the wailing and gnashing of teeth from Australia. To borrow an often used expression during the Brexit negotiations was ‘No Deal is better than a bad deal’, well we’ll see!
Good Luck to ‘Buckfast’ Barry and the lads at Coefficient FC tomorrow night. Got to get behind all the Scotti…… nah, can’t keep a straight face!!!!
The affection shown by BBC Scotland to Sevco is based on Brotherly love.
Wink wink…nudge nudge.
A part of my job involves assessing companies who have submitted Tender bids.
We have a subscription service “CompanyWatch”, a bit like D&B, with proprietary
financial metrics to ‘rate’ companies.
Just thought I’d try RIFC to see what results it gave:
Risk Rating is 10 [out of 10]
– the highest risk rating which I very rarely see: maybe once before?
Credit Limit is £500 [yes, five hundred pounds]
– “…a starting point when considering the amount of credit that should be extended to this company [RIFC]”
Contract Limit is £10K [yes, 10 thousand pounds]
– “…maximum [contract] value amount that [RIFC] can supply without causing a strain on the company’s existing resources…”
All rather shocking.
But, not to worry the 49-ers will save the day at ibrox…? 🙂
The best item from the Blue Meanie Beeb gossip page was the following:
Graeme Souness believes Leeds United could well become Rangers’ feeder club if the impending takeover goes to plan and elevates the club to another level. (Daily Record)
A (probably) soon to be English Premier League club will become the feeder club of the impoverished Ibrox imbeciles.
Entirely plausible if you’re a permanent gullibilly.
A state protected basket case.
Its a societal necessity to have that name involved in Scottish football.
It will never matter how much debt they incur, it will never matter how much grief they give the football authorities, and it will never matter how the fans behave.
Every step will always be taken to ensure they survive, thats why the club behave the way they do, they know it and use it to their advantage after the 5WA.
All forms of media in Scotland are saturated with huns and funny handshakes, hence never a word spoken or printed about their obvious train wreck.
We can keep asking ourselves when will things change, forget it, they won’t, ever.
Just keep winning regardless of all they do to try and stop it….just keep on winning….thats the only thing that eats them up.
Newly pumped -Alex Rae from Ibroxland, won’t be idle for long ! Not with BBC Scotland sniffing around for someone to replace wee Terry McCann! Or the old SS – Sky sports , they will give him tons of work with first dibs on his ‘ world exclusive ‘ time as assistant coach extraordinare in Govanlandia !
BBC Scotland ( A video and audio part of The Scummy Scottish Football Media)…
Only worth listening to when Sevco lose –
Which will hopefully be the case on Sunday !
