Answering the Greg Taylor nonsense

With their transformational Takeover showing no sign of progress legacy media outlets have found another squirrel to get excited over.

It seems that Kris Boyd is the source of the Greg Taylor to Ibrox rumour, it seems that the serial winner is a better option that Ridvan Yilmaz and Jefte for the left-back role.

With Boyd and Taylor being former team-mates outlets like the Daily Record and BBC Scotland will happily put 2 and 2 together to offer a comforting yarn to their distressed readers.

Since Taylor was part of the Murray Park conveyor belt of talent that hasn’t produced a single player since formation in 2012 the yarn has extra legs, apparently the young Greg was a confirmed bear.

But what if Taylor was so sickened by the way he was ditched from Murray Park that his thoughts on the club are forever tainted.

Perhaps he showed that with his treatment of star players Alfredo Morelos and Todd Cantwell.

Perhaps he might want to develop his career in a positive environment rather than be lumbered alongside Jack Butland, James Tavernier, Cyriel Dessers and others that he has been mocking for years.

It seems 99% certain that Taylor is leaving Celtic with a similar likelihood that he will be moving somewhere other than Ibrox.

Good news, deflection stories are hard to come by at the moment but the usual suspects are making full use of this brief window to offer their readers hope as Celtic prepare to lift #title55 with Taylor a key figure in five of those honours.

The Trinity Tims Podcast will be going out live at 6.30pm tonight.

Joe McHugh has been Video Celts since 2010, every day covering events in and around Scotland's most successful club.
When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.
Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement, cheers big man.
There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same more than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying every success for Scotland's Most Successful Club.

There’s no way he’ll go to Ibrox. It’s been obvious for months that he fancies a change of scene, be that England, Europe or even America. I couldn’t care less who he supported as a boy, there’s a lot more to being a Hun than being a Raynjurz fan as Stein, McGrain and Dalglish have shown in the past.

    • TicToc says:

      I couldn’t agree more, Owen.
“Hun” was never aimed at Protestants, only huns who prove themselves quickly by their vileness to ‘everyone and anyone’ who clearly isn’t one of them.
The “Billy Boys” is about a razor-wielding, fascist, KKK member thug named Billy Fullerton. (Thanks PMGB, I didn’t know that until I saw it on your site a few years back)
THAT is what they are, what defines a hun, SCUM.
      The Lisbon Lions (1967) (practising or otherwise – P = Protestant, C = Catholic)
Manager: Jock Stein (P). Assistant manager: Sean Fallon (C)
      Team: Simpson (P) Craig (C) Gemmell (P)
      Murdoch (C) McNeill (C) Clarke (C)
      Johnstone (C) Wallace (P) Chalmers (C) Auld (P) Lennox (C)
      Only sub: John Fallon (C)
In 1967 Rangers FC was all-Protestant. It’s ‘fans’ were considered (rightly or wrongly) all-Protestant.
In fairness, I disliked them intensely (around OF games), but didn’t really care otherwise. (Except for their extremist, loyalist shower whom I hated daily)
Many of us worked together and put our differences to one side.
Since that club was Liquidated in 2012, the adherent fans (same flies around a new shite, source unknown to me) clung on to lies about being the same club and are now the most vile, horrid, bitter, salivating scum on the planet. I doubt ANY of them is a practising Protestant.
Naw, Protestants are fine by me, huns are NOT!
NB I believe in and practice NO religion and never will.
PS No search engines were used in any of this as I remember all of it.
PPS I don’t EVER use Google when I DO use search engines, I use DuckDuckGo and TOR. They don’t steal your private info as Google does!

  • Charlie Green says:

Committed the ultimate sin at Celtic. Ran with the ball at his feet when there were plenty of backward and sideways passes to be made.

    • TicToc says:

I fully get that Charlie and agree and he put in some great crosses (assists) and could score too. He also worked his socks off for us.
I think the problem was managerial/tactical. As he roamed in mid and just wanted to play fitba, (that thing almost all supporters want to see) there was a severe vulnerability at LB and he took all the stick when either his managers or team-mates should have borne it.
He’s been a great signing for us, gave us his all and I can only wish him the Very Best of everything if/when he moves on.
Aye, Thank You Greg Taylor, a team-player who gave his heart and mind, a supporter of great fitba and the type of guy we all want to watch.

      • Terence Nova says:

I wish him all the best…and I’ll remember him as our left back who occasionally popped up at inside right…as I said…WTF..??

  • Captain Swing says:

Chip wrappers at it again. I’m old enough to remember a Sunday Mail ‘squirrel’ towards the end of John Greig’s glorious reign suggesting an out-of-contract Dalglish might fulfil his boyhood dream by donning the light blue. It was baloney then like it’s baloney now.

    • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

Liars then, Liars now, But definitely NOT Liars eternally… Cos they’re just about to die !!!
