Daizen Maeda appeared to eat one of the tangerines thrown onto the pitch as Celtic clinched the SPFL Premiership title today.
Ten minutes into the win over Dundee United the match was brought to a halt when away fans started to throw tangerines onto the pitch in protest at the £42 price tag put on tickets for away fans, home supporters had an offer of tickets for £10.
Brendan Rodgers looked angered on the touchline as the game stopped, Celtic players were picking up three and four at a time before throwing them to the sidelines but Maeda tends to do things differently.
Sky Sports tracked the forward appearing to peal into the tangerine, next thing he was smiling away with fans putting two and two together…

Dundee United had pinned Celtic back for the opening period, the break seemed to do the hoops a favour as they started to find their form when the match restarted.
An own goal from Ryan Strain broke the deadlock on the half hour, before half-time Nicolas Kuhn added two more goals with the title secured by the time that the two teams returned to the dressing rooms for the half time break.
Two minutes after the restart Adam Idah headed Celtic into a four goal lead in front of the away support as the tangerine protesters lapped up winning title number 55.
Soon afterwards there was another pricing protest when footballs were launched onto the park.
Idah completed the scoring in the 58th minute as Brendan Rodgers celebrated winning the SPFL title for the fourth time with all of them clinched with 5-0 victories.

Don’t know what that protest was all about. Celtic charge their fans extra for Rangers games which are only for the same 3 points as other games. We going to lob anything onto the pitch at the next one?
Are both sets of fans charged the same or is there a 32 quid spread
They might have charged more for the ‘Rangers’ game Dan but not since 2012 when ‘Rangers’ DIED !
£ Well said £
Protest was a point well made with multiple plays on words adding humour without losing the focus and intent of the demonstration, the percentage of club income from the gate is higher North of the border but no reason for exploitation of the fans.
It’s just more ammunition for the SMSM to throw at Celtic FC in their columns and headlines and through microphones and cameras ! It’s all Manna from Heaven for the hacks desperately hurting after Celtic secured title number 55 ..with legitimate ease and class .Don’t give them the cause to be negative on such a positively successful day . They lie in waiting for such luxurious stories all considered as money making events … while they stick the boot into the celebrations .
