Barry Ferguson has accepted responsibility for the red card stupidity of Ross McCausland.
The former Linfield winger was staring his first SPFL match of the year but was hopelessly out of his depth.
When Steven McLean is forced to send an Ibrox player off before half-time it really is time to take stock.
McCausland had already committed two fouls before he was booked on the half hour, 10 minutes later he earned another yellow card to leave his side down to 10 men.

Asked about the red card Ferguson said:
Obviously down to 10 men, this is a reoccurring theme getting men sent off. I just spoke to Ross at half-time and after the game and said, ‘you can’t be making mistakes like that when you are on a booking.’
Maybe at that stage, when he got booked, because he had a couple of tackles, maybe I should’ve made the decision earlier to substitute him. But look, it happened, he got correctly a second yellow, red card, and then it’s backs to the wall stuff again.
After the match angry bears were calling for McCausland to be moved on during the summer, with a contract running until May 2027 it looks like a hefty pay-off will be required to shift the winger on.
“You can’t be making decisions like that when you are on a booking”
So it’s ok the rest of the time then !
The Thuggery is well and truly in place once again at Liebrox then…
Are ya listening Walsh, Robertson, McLean, Steven, McDermid, & Co. !
Wee Benny making a James Hunt of himself again with the choosing of his words, can’t be doing tackles like that when yiur on a booking,as previous comment states,it’s OK though if you are not on a booking.
