Barry Ferguson will use the final five SPFL fixturex of the season to push his case to become the permanent manager at Ibrox.
Any notion that he was happy to steady the ship then step aside for Steven Gerrard or Jose Mourinho was kicked into touch at today’s media conference.
Having got a feel for life in a blazer and brogues the Club Ambassador is determined to retain that status despite a record of winning just four matches out of 10.
Defeat in Bilbao meant that there would be no trophy for Ferguson to cling onto but with a new Sporting Director coming in the caretaker is determined to be a contender for beyond this season.
With his media contacts Ferguson can count on plenty of support which is one more obstacle for the club as they look for someone to front next season’s Revolution!

There’s a couple of things I can say. If I get the job, I will make my club a better club. If I don’t get the job I will still support the club. That’s the way I’m looking at it.
I’ve got five games to go, the final game is on the 17th May, my focus is on this next few weeks.
There’s been a few bumps since I’ve come in, I knew that was going to be the case, but I wasn’t frightened of that, but I know what this club needs.
I’ve been through the door now for a couple of months, and I know the changes that are needed but in terms of the best, there’s obviously names getting mentioned who have a lot more experience than myself.
But I’ll back myself, I always will back myself. I might not be everybody’s cup of tea, but I know I can do the job alongside the staff that I’ve brought in, but we just need to wait and see.
Rather than give certain players a chance to impress Ferguson’s target over the remaining weeks is to deliver 15 points to endorse his application for the job on a permanent basis.

barry une Biatch !!! you got my vote kid !!! don’t go barry , please don’t gooooooooooooooooooooooooh ffs !!! chortle
MC Innes’ name has went a lot on the forgotten side … hasn’t it ? Little boy blue was on every scoops’ lips not too long ago ?
He has crippled half the team for his own ends and is now hell bent on doing the same to the rest of them in 5 dead games when he should be protecting his players and bleeding new talent for next season.
No ceo or owner watching a manager mishandle players for glory will entertain this pond spawn
The main appeal of Bazza to RIFC,
is that he’ll be happy to be paid – relative – peanuts,
happy to have no War Chest,
and happy to have no say on players in/out.
Happy to manage the players he’s given.
So, he can’t be fully disregarded… 🙂
I think the MIBs over the next 5 games will have a big say in Baawwee’s job application.
Can’t let down a Brother in need.
Bankrupt Barry knows the score , he’s seen it all before. 3 year deal paid up in full within 6 months.
