Andy Halliday has named FOUR Ibrox flops that would get into the Celtic squad.
It seems that half a dozen competent appearances has elevated Nico Raskin to the status that Todd Cantwell, Jefte and Jack Butland have recently enjoyed. Utter Delusion.
At the age of 24 Raskin has achieved very little but a alongside Connor Barron, Ianis Hagi and Tom Lawrence he is apparently a world-beater.
With two years left on his contract Raskin will find out this summer hiw highly rated he is but he can always count on army of Ibrox facing Scottish pundits to sing his praises.
Discussing the old favourite of how many Ibrox players would get in the Celtic side Halliday was asked about the brilliance of Raskin, telling Open Goal:
I think he would for Engels, that’s why he’s in the Belgium squad ahead of Engels. There aren’t many. I think you’d take Vaclav Cerny in your squad anyway.
You’d take Raskin in your squad. I think you would take [Mohamed] Diomande in your squad as well. That’s probably it.
Oh, and Souttar. I’d take him the squad. He’s done well this year. He’s one of the few pass marks, I’d say.
Raskin wouldn’t be ahead of Paulo Bernardo and Luke McCowan for a place in the Celtic side, Souttar would be battling with Maik Nawricki to be fourth choice central defender.

NO THANK YOU ! – Our Record trophy winning statistics would take a helluva, helluva dip with thatlot for sure !
Ha ha ha I rest my case. I have long slated the so called pundits in Scottish football have not earned any right to make comments like this.
Andy Halliday is a likeable lad apparently according to Brendan but this article does throw his judgement about players into question.
These pundits are largely drawn from the Govan area so they are proven serial losers, ex players from the old Ibrox team and the current tribute act. I have constantly questioned what right they have to pontificate on anything football related as they cannot point to any sorts of achievements in their careers to make them role models.
They have this belief in the alleged brilliance of Ibrox “stars” over the last 12 years. The media joins them in agreeing with their ability assessments and value assessments. It is a shame for them that those who live in the real world have always looked in the shop window and either said no thanks or just laughed,
The ones he mentions do not in my view have the fitness, the talent, the consistency but most importantly the attitude, behaviour and mentality Brendan demands for any player to get anywhere in the Celtic team. Unless of course they become ball boys, oops ball persons.
They are still at it today with reports of Shankland and Wilson from Hearts plus some other young goalie from the sixth tier of Scottish football. When will these fan boys learn that nobody buys their sales drives to get inflated prices for their players to hopefully build a war chest to try and compete with us.
Why do they think they have any chance to convince Celtic that we should be looking at the sorts of targets they flag up in a totally transparent effort to dumb us down. Deary me
The James Hunt is a Govan glue sniffer.
Halliday is obviously feeling the otherworldly effect from his drinking the old Ayahuasca….let’s hope he’s wearing a big strong nappy ?
Shouldn’t Halliday be concerned more about Motherwell?
To paraphrase the old joke.
“Enough about Sevco, what do ‘you’ think about Sevco?”
Halfwit Hallidays been drinking his own piss …AGAIN , those 4 wouldn’t even make decent ballboys never mind the 1st choice celtic team .
Perfect example of why you shouldn’t drink and type.
Tell it like it is, Joe. Keith Jackson touted Nico Raskin as being World Class. I wonder if Raskin along with Cerny, Diomande and Souttar played a part in the team that lost to Queen’s Park?
