Four non Celtic players have been selected in the PFA Team of the Year.

It is doubtful whether Brendan Rodgers will be losing any sleep over the selection- or racing out to sign John Souttar, James Penrice, Nico Raskin or Sam Darby.

Adding those four to the current Celtic side is unlikely to make an improvement but it does give an indication of who is impressing on their week by week opponents.

In his first season in Scotland Kasper Schmeichel has been voted in as the best ‘keeper in the country, in front of him Cameron Carter-Vickers and Alistair Johnston have been very consistent since arriving in Scottish football.

In midfield Arne Engels misses out, in attack there is no Celtic striker with Kyogo Furuhashi and Adam Idah having stints in that position with Daizen Maeda selected on the wing.

Maeda is the strong favourite to clean up with the individual awards with the Japanese international going into Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi-final against St Johnstone with 31 goals to his name so far this season.

Joe McHugh has been Video Celts since 2010, every day covering events in and around Scotland's most successful club.
When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.
Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement, cheers big man.
There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same more than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying every success for Scotland's Most Successful Club.

How is there a PFA team of the year with 0 Hibs players?
    And 0 Aberdeen players?
The Arabs lad I understand, he is Top-scorer. But 2 Sevconuts and a player of Hearts over even 1 Hibs player?
    Ridiculous

The best player I’ve seen outwith Celtic this season is the Dundee right back Mulligan. Fits Celtic style perfectly.

How is the Celtic Goal of the year decided? The Goal that provided much inspiration
was Nicolas Kuhn’s vs Bayern Munich 18 February 1-1 draw. After the game, Bayern
showed warm admiration of the Celtic player’s game, lauding Daizen Maeda’s vitality.
