Keith Jackson fears that Celtic are already poised t0 scoop up the season 25/26 domestic treble.

Brendan Rodgers will as usual be ignoring the thoughts of the veteran Daily Record reporter but it is impossible to avoid the weariness and fear around Ibrox as Celtic’s trophy haul increases season by season.

Only Aberdeen can prevent the hoops winning their sixth treble in nine years, when the two sides met at Hampden in November Daizen Maeda inspired Celtic to a 6-0 victory.

While Celtic appear to be going from strength to strength at Ibrox it seems that the club is close to imploding, the blind faith in the American fakeover is starting to give way to the reality of a squad closer to Dundee United and Hibs than they are to the champions.

Dundee United and Hibs have something to build on during the close season, at Ibrox Kevin Thelwell will quickly realise that he has been sold a pup despite the compensation of his Director of Football salary.

Quite clearly none of Barry Ferguson’s players would get on the Celtic bench, going on a run of taking two points from Hibs, Aberdeen and St Mirren their true levels have been exposed.

With the fakeover close to collapsing due to small print in the deal the reality is that only Leon Balogun, Tom Lawrence, Ianis Hagi and Vaclav Cerny won’t be back at Murray Park for pre-season training in July.

Jackson has been driving the bus for the fakeover and to install Barry Ferguson as manager but the magnitude of the task is starting to dawn on the Record’s star reporter.

This morning he admitted:

No matter what Cavenagh and Thelwell have in mind over the summer, there’s already a better than even chance that Rodgers will tuck another three away next season before his current contract expires.

This isn’t just any old dominance. It’s a freakish and unprecedented era of complete and utter supremacy which has, effectively, reduced their old rivals to a state of irrelevance in their own back yard.

Back on February 19 when Jackson delivered the WORLD EXCLUSIVE about the takeover there was a definite spring in his step.

The deal was transformative, would involve multi-million pound investment and result in a summer spending splurge. Classic Record Bingo with talks at an advanced stage.

More than two months of nothing has followed, in less than three months time the Champions League qualifiers get underway.

If the Record’s chief football reporter is digging out the white flag there must be serious causes for concern that in a years time Celtic will have claimed #title56.

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.
Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement, cheers big man.
There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same more than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying every success for Scotland's Most Successful Club.

How – Oh How That must hurt him and hurt him big time –

Well it’s obvious that we hate the tramp but The Sevco Hun Hoards absolutely will as well after that admission…

    Oh what beautiful schadenfreude indeed…

And there should be more on Clyde Superscoreboard tonight as well !

After a cataclysmic event , like liquidation , they very rarely ever come back as they previously were …with few exceptions ! Let’s see ! Here’s just a few of the serious substantial difficulties..that we know about ? Over £100 million pounds of losses since 2012 …litigation after litigation where the clumpany regularly pay out millions of pounds to others due to sharp practices …a crumbling , ancient stadium needing massive repairs and refurbishment …a need for multiple share issues each season to fund keeping Ibroxland in operation ….a squad of players unable to compete every week for success ! All of the above and more ,yet our SMSM and other digital platforms never , ever go near such massive problems which if addressed properly would help them in their humungous sized rebuild programmes. All self inflicted massive wounds aided and abetted by their Ostrich head pals in the media . You know the old saying don’t you ? ” If you are in a ginormous hole …stoap diggin ! ‘

Never mind the guy clearly being out his depth , the bad results and the goals getting shipped every game , Keith’s still on the campaign trail for his mate Barry to get the Job because he says he’s a link to the good days when Rangers were successful ( Cheating )

    Just ludicrous man

    Fanboy journalism at it’s worst

“…reduced their old rivals to a state of irrelevance in their own back yard.”

First accurate thing that Jackson has scribbled down about sevco in a very long time?

And even the thickest of bears must be realising exactly where their new club stands today?

A failed ‘fakeover’ would certainly not be well received down ibrox way either…!

    Irrelevant and skint.

    Karma. 🙂

  • Magua says:

The use of the word ‘freakish’ would point to a one off event, or some such happening…like the Huns’ Covid title. Celtic have been utterly dominant in Scottish football since 1965. Six decades in all. All the Huns’ titles won under Murray, should have been struck off, due to financial irregularities. And in one decade long spree…outright fraud.

    Hail Hail.

    • BriBhoy says:

Agreed. What’s freakish about title wins resulting from hard-earned, carefully-planned, long-time-in-the-making financial supremacy, by a well-run club with a genuine “proper manager”, who has access to world class recruitment and scouting networks , good coaching staff etc. Up against a loss-making club, drowning in debt, with an ageing, bankrupt, ned hammer thrower and his pals in charge of the football side, none of whom know anything but Big Sam hoofball football from the Dark Ages. Dressed up in cringey, pseudo-militaristic cliches.

  • Holysmokes says:

‘Freakish’? Rangers went bust by overspending, cheating the taxman and cheating Scottish football. So they went bust when it all caught up with them. That’s not freakish. That’s due process. And it was brought on by them being not as good in all senses of the word, i.e. poorer quality and lower morals. It wasn’t freakish, it was virtually an inevitability. Either they pushed it as far as they could and went bust or they lived within their means the whole time, lost league after league anyway, lost the support of the fans and went bust anyway. Not freakish, just the natural conclusion. Fergus put this in motion and there was no obvious way of stopping it. There still isn’t.

  • BriBhoy says:

Wow! Have the gullibillies snapped up all the season tickets already? Must have, if even Jacko is in desperate, “gentle let down” mode. Wonder when the rumours and then full story about the fakeover deal collapsing, because staunch real Rangers men refused to bow to lowball offers from greedy, bullying, unreasonable yanks (who don’t “get the club, it’s staunch traditions and what it stands for” like they do) will start?

  • Bhoy4life says:

Nobody wants them…and I bet they will care….
