James Forrest has a huge fan in Jota.
While the Portuguese winger is high profile with spells in Portugal, France, Spain and Saudi Arabia on his CV his team-mate has stuck with home comforts, the dying breed of One Club Men.
On Saturday Jota grabbed his fifth goal since returning to Celtic in January but over the last two matches he has come off the bench with Forrest back in the Starting XI.
Under Brendan Rodgers the team ethic is central to everything that happens at Celtic where there are currently four strong options competing for two starting places in the team.
Football’s Goalkeeping Union is well established but it seems that wingers also enjoy a mutual appreciation society, discussing Forrest, the Daily Record reports Jota saying:
Come on, he’s not that old — 33 is the new 22! Don’t do him like that!
But yeah, credit to him, James has had an unbelievable career and we’re just all grateful to him on the pitch and on the team.
The number of medals he has speaks for itself.
There’s not one single person in the locker room that doesn’t love James, as a person and a football player, so we just try to drink from his wisdom and to learn from him and just be a part of his journey.
I think there’s a lot of good personalities in the club and everyone tries to transmit to us what the values of Celtic are.
And yeah, James was no different from that, you can learn a lot from him and I’m just grateful that I’m doing this with him.
On Saturday the wingers head to Tannadice seeking to win the SPFL Premiership title.
For Forrest it would be championship medal number 13, Jota will be looking to pick up his third title winning medal.

Forrest it’s a grand old team to play for – Forrest it’s a grand old team to see…
Another GOLD medal on the way for our Jamesey !
Every Jota article makes me happy. The guy is like your best pal. Not only is he brilliant at football, but he just seems to cheerful all the time. I must take a leaf out his book. As I’m a greetin’ faced auld bastard like James Forrest!
