Kris Boyd has spoken of his surprise at Celtic becoming the most successful club in Scotland.

Back in December a penalty shoot out victory at Hampden delivered the League Cup and trophy 119, taking them one clear of the combined count of both Ibrox clubs.

On Saturday it was champions of Scotland for the 55th time, a number that Boyd celebrated wildly back in 2021 while fans were locked out of football stadiums.

There is every chance that Celtic will reach 121 by the end of this season, in the Daily Record Keith Jackson has already conceded another treble from next season to the dominant hoops.

Under various scams of disguised remuneration Dave Murray piled up trophies at Ibrox with Boyd enjoying the perks alongside Barry Ferguson, Neil McCann, Billy Dodds, Alex Rae, Steven Thompson and dozens of others.

Those days are gone, Celtic are rampant with all sorts of stats being created through the most dominant era in Scottish football history.

Watching it all unfold has been a painful experience for Boyd.

From a Rangers point of view, there’s obviously going to be takeover happening. But the harsh reality is, Rangers are falling further and further behind Celtic.

There is obviously no takeover happening, just a useful deflection tactic.

When you go back a few years ago in terms of that trophy count, it was virtually impossible – if you go back to my time at the football club – that Celtic were going to get anywhere near it.

People will say since Rangers went down the league, but Celtic have actually won more trophies since Rangers have come back to the top-flight than they did when they were away.

There’s an overhaul needed again in the summer that can’t continue to happen every single season.

There will be no takeover and no overhaul, led  by James Tavernier most of this season’s squad will be around for the start of next season.

Jack Butland and Cyriel Dessers have two years left on their contracts, Danilo has a deal running until 2028 with Oscar Cortes becoming a permanent signing on July 1.

Rabbi Matondo, Ben Davies, Kieran Dowell and Jose Cifuentes will return from their loan deals to drain the wage bill.

Joe McHugh has been Video Celts since 2010, every day covering events in and around Scotland's most successful club.
When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.
Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement, cheers big man.
There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same more than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying every success for Scotland's Most Successful Club.

This is typical of the right wing supremacist mind.
The club from Govan is totally embroiled in these ideas of supremacy and needed to free itself of the chains and disgusting surrounding it.

It had its chance in 2012, but their hatred of those outwith their deranged mindset has poisoned them further so the disease which is prevalent in their outlook is now killing them. Major surgery is required, but may not be enough as this illness could now be terminal.

The cancer should have been cut away when they emerged from the death bed as a Phoenix club. Unfortunately, the Scottish Establishment has encouraged them in their fantasies and are as much to blame as the club and most of its support (not all) as well.

First paragraph, end of sentence 2 should read “of the chains and disgusting ideas surrounding it”.

Apologies. Please change if you wish.

    IIRC
Celtic became the most successful club in Scotland when Ange won this 2nd trophy of his treble winning season .
Ragers 1872 died and sevco 2012 have 3 trophies to their name .
Those are the facts everything else is just lies to create the illusion of a football team surviving extinction
