Kris Boyd wasn’t cracking many gags as he watched Barry Ferguson’s side crash out of the Europa League away to Athletic Bilbao.

The home side dominated throughout leaving Ferguson with a European record of one win, two defeats and a home draw, failing to score in three matches refereed by non Scots.

Over two matches against Bilbao the Ibrox Tribute Act have had one player sent off and two penalties awarded against.

It would never have happened under John Beaton, Steven McLean or any of the other SFA officials but Bosnian referee Irfan Peljto actually applied the laws of the game.

Boyd suffered through the action from Bilbao in the Sky Sports studio, after the final whistle the paranoia was oozing out of him.

It’s a disgrace. The three of us have looked at it and said it’s a stonewall penalty. Cyriel Dessers has had to go off and change his shirt. It’s a slack pass but Dessers has managed to turn and get away from him.

The goalkeeper is coming out and Vivian just pulls his shirt, it’s ripped across the middle. I can’t believe for the life of me why that has not been given as a penalty kick. The referee hasn’t even been sent to the monitor. Honestly, it’s a terrible decision.

These things apparently even themselves out over the course of a season.

With the season over a full on campaign is underway to give Ferguson the manager’s job on a permanent basis, with fans of almost all clubs fully supportive of giving the former Alloa boss the job.

That’s what happens when you buy cheap castore shirts , they’re about as strong as crepe paper,it’s brilliant seeing referees applying the laws of the game ,unlike the masonic larkhall mib from scoatland.
