Saturday’s blunder to gift Hibs their opening goal seems to have been the last straw for many Ibrox fans with Jack Butland.
A year after hounding Gareth Southgate for overlooking Super Jack for the England squad most bears are discovering why Micky Beale was the only manager showing interest in the Crystal Palace reserve during the summer of 2023.
Butland is a known quantity in the English game- high on self confidence but badly lacking in ability throughout his career. Punching the ball into his own net at Old Trafford in the Europa League confirmed that opinion.
Since his early days at Stoke and Birmingham when he was tipped for the top Butland has failed to deliver, being so bad that Jordan Pickford has been the undisputed first choice for England since 2018.
??? “The only reason he’s ever been dropped in that Rangers team is when his WIFE gave birth!”
? “He’s an absolute disgrace of a goalkeeper & probably one of the worst we’ve ever had… he’s an absolute BOMBSCARE!”

Last season the signs started to show during the 3-3 Moral Victory over Celtic, when he presented Adam Idah with the winning goal in the Scottish Cup Final the myth was truly broken.
Bizarrely during pre-season training in Holland Phil Clement revealed that everyone was up for sale- except the £30m rated Butland. It seemed that the Ibrox boss was playing along with the media hype.
The errors have become more obvious and frequent since he picked up his League Cup losers medal at Hampden in December, afterwards he revealed that he hung around in the tunnel area to see Celtic lift the trophy to raise his desire to become a winner.
The 32-year-old is never slow at self promotion but after chucking in goals against Dundee and Hibs he’d do well to keep a low profile, if Liam Kelly is in goals against Athletic Bilbao on Thursday there will only be the comfort of two years remaining on his contract to cover up for recent embarrassments.

Joe the last thing we need today is to be picking faults ab laughing at sevco players.
When we get round to sorting our own mess we can back to laughing at sevco their players their coaching staff and their klub, but for now the faults in our own team should be getting highlighted, not focusing on thecklan klub.
If you ask me that’s a squirrel article you have put up there mate, only my opinion, don’t shoot the messenger.
Editor: Cheers. I will publish any article/story/news that I like at any time I like. My choices, my decisions, squirrels are for CQN and those in the fan media loop.
Touched a nerve did he
Performances like today just give those losers across the city encouragement for next season ……Rogers needs to sort this out pronto
Sorry Joe,it’s time you stopped slagging off all these hun duds and turned your guns on the imposters wearing the Hoops. If the huns weren’t absolute shit we would never win the league.I will be amazed if we come away from Ibrox next month with a point with that bunch of lightweights.
Editor: The problem starts at the very top. Selling Kyogo with no intention of replacing him sent a message, ambition ended at that stage, players pick up on that quickly, it is near impossible to reverse that process, not helped by a manager entering the final 12 months of his contract.
I wouldn’t trust Brendan with the money to replace Kyogo – we might end up with another Adam Idah.
Editor: Or a Vakoun Bayo, Patryk Klimala or Albian Ajeti.
Celtic Sunday duds bail out Sevco Saturday ones !
