Ally McCoist has admitted that the celebrations that greeted Ianis Hagi equalising against Aberdeen on Sunday were sad and pathetic.
As a manager McCoist went tonto over winning the Third Division and League One title for the 2012 Tribute Act.
Trailing 2-0 at half-time away to Aberdeen, goals from Hamza Igamane and Hagi earned Barry Ferguson’s side a draw to cut the gap with Celtic down to 15 points with the hoops having a 42 goal difference cushion going into the five post split fixtures.
Hagi’s goal delayed Celtic being crowned as champions for the 55th time, Brendan Rodgers’ side can now retain the title by drawing away to Dundee United on April 26.
Listening in to McCoist on TalkSPORT today The Sun reports the Ibrox hero saying:

Aw man, it was hilarious. Absolutely hilarious. Anything to prolong you lot winning a league. That’s how sad it is. Yes, it is. It’s pathetic.
On the pitch Hagi shooshed the Aberdeen fans, Liam Kelly ran half the length of the pitch to celebrate. Trackside, Findlay Curtis tried to climb into the Main Stand while Nicky Raskin and Mason Munn (a real name) goaded VIPs from their seats in the stand.
McCoist played a key role in Celtic’s current domination of Scottish football, taking over from Walter Smith as manager of Rangers in the summer of 2011.
Defeats from Malmo and Maribor meant that there was no European group stage football during season 2011/12, killing off Craig Whyte’s exciting plans for the club.
Administration in February 2012 was followed four months later by liquidation with McCoist at the front of the queue to TUPE over his contract to Charles Green’s Tribute Act.
With the backing of McCoist fans bought into the new club which has won three trophies out of 35.
Here is a question.
Given the poor standard of Scottish Football which would be considered the greater, winning a treble or winning the Europa Cup?
Heaven forbid we should have to deal with that in reality.

Probably winning The Europa League would surpass the treble but they’ve a bit to go yet but I sometimes have to share pubs with one or two of them and you’re right – It would be fuckin unbearable for sure but I think Athletico will prevail tomorrow night but it might be by a narrow win like 2-1…
