Jed York has set the Record straight over the alleged Ibrox takeover involving the San Francisco 49ers, the club that he owns.
On February 19 the Daily Record came out with all guns blazing about the 49GERS being in advanced talks over a transformational takeover of the ailing 2012 Tribute Act.
Every cliche was strung together to provide Record readers with hope of a better future but six weeks later there has been no comment out of San Francisco and their billionaire owners, the York family.
The Record quickly downgraded the takeover onto 49ers Enterprises and then businessman Andrew Cavenagh who has been lapping up hospitality at recent matches while keeping his hands stuck in his pocket.
On March 3 Sky Sports announced that agreement to buy up 51% of the club shares had been agreed in principle with due diligence underway.
Not a word has been uttered from the USA about the deal but today ESPN reports:
49ers Enterprises already owns the Leeds United soccer team, and it’s been reported that an agreement to buy Rangers FC in Glasgow, Scotland, is also in the offing. That has left some fans wondering whether the Niners are tightening their financial belts with an eye toward preserving funds for that deal. Nothing is done on that front just yet, according to York.
“We haven’t done anything there,” York said. “Leeds is obviously under the umbrella, but those are completely separate from the 49ers. Where we can tie brands together and sort of take our best practices of operating and things like that, [we do,] but in terms of financials, they don’t overlap at all.”
It is unlikely that the Record will be covering those quotes.
Firstly there is no transformational takeover from the 49ers, and, secondly, if there was it would only be to share best practise in terms of branding, sponsorship and marketing rather than providing Barry Ferguson with a war-chest to replace the serial losers during the summer transfer window.
Last year the Ibrox Season Ticket Renewal campaign was launched on April 11, a few days after a moral victory over Celtic.

Oh dear now just where is the BOOZE JOCKEY JACKASS Jackson to counter act this statement from a man in the know about 49s dealings, one of the family members that has a say about the 49s and knows of Jackshit about any FAKEOVER.
Oh dear can you imagine the backlash and the massive kickup by the klan fans if this is the case of the above.
He will then be known as officially as Keith Jackanory.
Jackanory is very apt for a crayon scribbler Joker !
If any of the tribute act fans still harbour hopes of their 49ers sugar daddy’s funding bazza’s £50m war chest then the little ditty below will put an end to that sh*te…
“Where we can tie brands together and sort of take our best practices of operating and things like that, [we do,] but in terms of financials, they don’t overlap at all.”

It’s all about myths, fantasy, and delusion at Sevco. They have been fed this sort of fantasy since the old club was liquidated, and by the SMSM and their own club.
The gift that keeps on giving ?????????????????
Mickey mouse has asked for a Barry Ferguson watch
Rather than ‘allegedly’ buying sevco, it sounds like the 49-ers are selling a franchise…?
Whatever: sevco as a business is just as distressed today – as it was back in October?
Actually, after the quote above it could now be worse: the recent, positive outlook is baseless?
