Brendan Rodgers didn’t miss his critics as he reflected on Celtic’s latest title success, following a 5-0 win away to Dundee United.
It was the third success game in which Celtic have scored five goals, the goal difference between the top two clubs is plus 47 to back up a 17 point gap at the top.
For some, and Calum Crowe of the Daily Mail in particular it has all become a bit tedious.
It is a very strange take on current events, Celtic are breaking and chasing a number of goal scoring records with Adam Idah taking his tally for the season to 17, three behind Nicolas Kuhn who also bagged a double at Tannadice.
Those inside football rarely admit to reading what is being published in the media but the ‘tedious treble’ story quickly went viral, summing up the mood of many.

Last year was tight. We needed to improve, and we have improved. I know there was a wee bit of chat around, tedious, I think the word was, if someone is in here who said it, it’s okay. That’s your opinion. It’s not tedious for me, for the football club.
We are in a competition that we want to be the very best. If we land at 15 points, clear with five games to go, with a plus 42 goal difference over our nearest rival, then I can tell you what, that’s not tedious. That’s professionalism at its highest level and concentration, and performance.
For me, it is so satisfying. We’ve got four more games to go, we’ve got records we want to beat, and then we have a Scottish Cup final to finish off the season. Hopefully, it will be a really memorable one.
It can’t be denied that today is another huge success for Rodgers who has won 11 out of 12 domestic trophies as Celtic manager, on May 24 he can add one more to that total and become the first manager to win three trebles.
Rodgers will enjoy a weekend of celebrations but it will soon be business as usual at Lennoxtown in preparation for Sunday’s trip to Ibrox and the chance to go 20 points clear of their city neighbours.

Celtic football club is now officially the club that has won the most league titles in the history of Scottish football.
Who in the laptop loyal do you think will publish that
Is it too much to ask that our club acknowledge the fact
We’ve had that acolade since 2012
Brilliant response from Brendan – Great to see him looking so happy in the pic !
