For the fourth time in a month the club from Ibrox has warned their fans over their song book, last night they threatened to disband the ‘Singing Section’ that they created in the Copland Road Front section this season.
Not a word had came out of the club all season about the songs of hate from that section but that changed on March 19 when the club announced that they were facing three UEFA charges from the Fenerbahce match including one over racism.
That resulted in fines reaching £30,000 with a two year suspended sentence hanging over the Copland Stand if there is a repeat of the racist activities at any future UEFA matches. The warning from the club also covered illicit songs although the songs were undefined.
On Saturday morning, ahead of the away match at Dundee there was a third statement, this time over illegal songs and the prospect of SPFL action, this was ground-breaking since the Scottish authorities have until now looked on the toxic songbook as part of the matchday experience.
Yesterday the Season Ticket Renewal campaign got underway with one very detailed warning to the Union Bears:
Ibrox is known as one of sport’s most famous arenas, with the atmosphere generated inside our home being the envy of clubs across the globe.
To further enhance that wonderful atmosphere, since the beginning of the 2024/25 season, Rangers has provided a dedicated singing section located in the Copland Front at the traditional ‘Rangers end’ of Ibrox Stadium, and the noise and colour generated there can only be of benefit to Rangers teams into the future.
Rangers remains committed to providing a singing section in the Copland Front for the forthcoming 2025/26 season.
However, the singing section also presents the club with heightened security, safety and regulatory concerns. The issues of concern impact the match going experience for other supporters and have financial and reputational consequences for the club. Accordingly, for the remainder of this season (2024/25), the club will be monitoring the operation of the singing section and the behaviours of groups and individuals who frequent it.
If the issues of concern continue, the club may reluctantly conclude that it is necessary to withdraw the singing section for season 2025/26 for certain matches or indefinitely if deemed necessary for the safety of our supporters and/or for the benefit of the club. Should this occur, Rangers will be in touch with affected season ticket holders to communicate what (if any) further action will be taken in accordance with section 8 of its Season Ticket Terms and Conditions.
Quite clearly someone has been leaning on the Ibrox board, some might think it is coming from the prospective American owners, more likely UEFA has woken up to the toxic actions going on in one of their competitions.
Hibs and Athletic Bilbao visit Ibrox over the next week, it is quite a stretch to imagine that the Union Bears will be able to stick to football songs during those fixtures.
Celtic are due at Ibrox in one of the five post split fixtures.
Ye canny sing the sash or hello hello or any other DISCRIMATORY songs but most of all ye canny sing CHAMPIONEES ??

The toxic shithole being the envy of clubs across the world ????????????????????????????????????
Its as if they’re preparing to be taken over by a catholic family….recanting their past deeds…..
They love their wee phrases World most successful club, Everyone and Anyone, We have a global fan base, We are the people, renowned atmosphere lol. Not one of them true.
Note that it says if ye sing banned songs about Famines and Feniens “ at certain matches “ then we will pull the plug on you. Seems to suggest they are saying it is ok to sing yer vile songs when nobody will be watching.
They cannot afford to ban any group and esp, if as we have seen this year, their results have stopped fans follow following them anymore.
Already posted this but can’t now see it?
They love their wee straplines Everyone and anyone, World’s most successful club, Global Fan Base, Globally renowned atmosphere, We are the people lol not one of them true.
The statement says basically If ye sing songs about Famines and Fenians “ at certain matches “ then ye will be hooked. It implies it is ok to sing them at matches where nobody is really looking.
They canny afford to ban any groups. They will lose enough follow followers if their results don’t improve as we have seen plenty of evidence of that this season in their attendances.
Well that’s the Onion bears telt .
What about the other 49,800 who belt out the illegal billy boys every time they score a goal
I suppose the directors and corporates can just be told verbally in the hospitality suites as to avoid embarrasment when they tell them to stick their e-mail up their erchies.
There’s something brewing over ibrokes way
If the high head yins are publicly forcing this and it has f all to do with the SFA or SPFL
Maybe for certain matches (European no doubt). But its OK to sing up to your knees on Saturdays. What a shower.
Right lads, we can’t sing anymore, Let’s start humming. That’ll show the board…. You know it’s coming. As a comedian once said “you can’t undo stupidity “… these songs are ingrained in ra peeepull, bigotry is all they have. Nothing is going to change..
Start Humming – They’ve been STINKING since they crawled outta the grave of dead ‘Rangers’ 12 years and 249 days ago (as of today) !!!
With everything that’s been stirred up against Celtic by the SMSM this week, there is no chance these morons will behave themselves. I’m expecting a 90 minute vile outpouring against Celtic and maybe even a banger or two . Jimmy Saville will certainly get a mention and then they slip easily into the Fenian and famine stuff. SMSM haven’t done the onions any favours with their anti Celtic ranting this week.
Credit where credit is due to the editor. That was a good informative read. . Hope they clowns are disbanded soon. Even some of their own fans dislike them and they’re a sorry lot.
But it’s practically the entire stadium at ibrokes that spews out the racist songs and not just the Hunion bears.
So when uefa is watching they’ll remove the Hunion bears but let them back in when they are not ?
2 questions.
What about the other 40 odd thousand Sevco fans singing anti- Irish racist songs ?
If it’s ok to sing them under SFA rules but not UEFAs then the SFA is happy with anti- Irish racism ?
