On Saturday Barry Ferguson had given up on the players that refused to follow his instructions against St Mirren despite a pure brilliant week of training at Murray Park.
The interim boss washed his hands of responsibility, no doubt at some point in the coming week Fergie will be pure up for the task of bringing success to the club because he is the staunchest of them all, no one hurts more than the former Blackburn midfielder when he sees Celtic winning trophies.
His good friend Keith Jackson also jumps ship on a weekly basis, smirking in the background are the players under contract next season and beyond, the core group that have seen off Micky Beal, Phil Clement and who are preparing the cliches to welcome the next manager to be at their mercy.
At Friday’s pre-match media conference Ferguson questioned whether finishing trophy-less would be painful for the Ibrox players
Well, it would be painful for me, it would be painful for my staff, it would be painful for the supporters. And I want it to be painful for my players, because you’re at Rangers and we need to start challenging — properly challenging — for trophies.
Of course the players don’t care, in four weeks Jefte, Robin Propper, Ianis Hagi, Nicky Raskin, Cyriel Dessers and James Tavernier will be off on holiday without a second thought for Scottish football.
Only Hagi won’t be back in June to continue draining the wage bill.
After drawing 2-2 at St Mirren Ferguson made it clear that the fault all lay with the players, not the bonkers tactics of the interim manager playing a five man defence and trying again to get Cyriel Dessers and Hamza Igamane to pass to each other in attack.
When you speak to them individually and as a group and you ask them to do things and they don’t do it, what is the point? That’s the thing that frustrates me.
The issue I’ve got is people don’t fear playing Rangers now. Whether that’s at home or away, they enjoy coming to Ibrox.
And then, when you go away from home, teams look to see if they can bully you, run hard at you and get in about you.
With four matches left on his deal Ferguson will be out of Ibrox before any of the players that built up a 17 point deficit to Celtic over 34 matches.
These players DON’T listen, Barry is on the sideline turning to the bench saying this exact thing.
True Rangers know these players are rotten, Barry knows they’re rotten.
They’ve managed to get through games playing rotten.— NeilCuth66 (@NCuth66) April 26, 2025

Probably can’t understand him especially if he’s on a rant ? still hope he gets the job 155%
Celtic 55 And sevco 1 Barry lol
I was speaking with an ibrox season ticket holder who told me that fans can’t stand wee Barry, and that he is the last person they want in there in charge of the team.
The fans on his sevco supporting bus have been saying he is stuck way back 30 years ago with his tactics of shouting at players throwing them under the bus as well as his own coaching staff getting in the neck as well,he said rumours are that a few players have more or less told Ferguson to fuck off, hence him coming out to the press and saying they are not doing what I’m telling them to do when dishing out instructions.
All that information is from the mouth of a season ticket holder at Ibrox,he is stuck in the 1980s SOURNESS and Smith type of football style of play and management, forgetting things have moved on from then, players now have a backbone and more say in the game than a manager with 30 odd years backwards tactics on and off the park.
Ma hert’s pumping pure purple p15h fur him.
Oh, Buckfast Barry, what will we do without you? He’s the gift that just keeps on giving. Chances are next season they’ll get some dull but more professional type from Englandshire in to replace him. Best we can hope for is another bizarre Pedro Caixinha type of appointment to add to the banter years.
The “players “? Hate their fans ,and playing at Ibrox ,n its Kulchur.it’s a easy wage nothing else, and weeee Baaaaza knows it.
Five games without a win yet he’s totally immune to any criticism in the media
Big Phil Clem- on must be sitting in his bungalow with the feet up living off his massive severance dough saying to himself ” what was it I did wrong that they brought in a bigger dud again ? “
Barry. Listen: You want us to be Bullies; but Referees are stopping us. They are following the rule book. Referees don’t want to be dropped or put out for a few weeks. We only have VAR to assist us now and not all of them follow secret rules.
Barry, Listen: The Club sold our enforcers. Lundstram gone, Calvin gone, Alfredo is gone. You know players left, because Managers were continually sacked by Fans, Gers couldn’t win trophies and were perpetual numero duo.
Barry, Listen: Bullying won’t win you Games. You are a relic.
Barry, Listen: Celtic Fans want you to stay on, managing Cav 49 ers.
His ranting at the players from pitch-side is a sure fire way of getting a GIRUY from them… F….uming. U…seless. D…dickhead
It’s getting very interesting now at sevco.
It’s been pretty much all bad news around ibrox this season.
For next season and beyond, everything positive seems to be hanging on their expected ‘takeover’.
IF/when the Yanks do walking away…
how will ibrox, the bears, the SMSM react to a very public ‘rejection’ of such a staunch club?
Could be a long overdue – and a rather painful – reality check for them: sevco is just not worth it! 🙂
Hh…yanks will only be there if they can make money. THAT WOULD REQUIRE A HUGE TURNAROUND IN POLICIES.
It would require the death of orange protestantism…the death of anti Catholic…anti Irish…anti anything sung and paraded by the peepul who believe they are superior to all.
If there’s no chance of cash going back to the yanks to cover their initial investment…they’ll walk away in my opinion….and they’ll want yhat return in no more than 3 to 5 years.
Given the monies being quoted as around 100 million…just to gain control…and not counting loans owed or some other debts…(keep in mind.d 2 major shareholders are owed 22 million they’ve loaned )…that would require profit in 5 years in excess of 25 million a year
That club has made multi million losses every year since its Birth in 2012…
It’s tied to several huge contracts with players, and expected go make a 25 million loss this year…
There’s no way the yanks can turn things around to go from multi million losses to multi million profits…just to cover their investment in even a 5 year period…
I can’t see this going ahead on that basis…because without the hatred, there is no sevco…
Without multi million profits, there’s no return for investors
I could be wrong…but if this goes ahead I will be very very surprised….
The point he is trying to make is that he is a master tactician but they are not doing what he tells them.
Shot himself in the foot there.
Why would they hire him when the players don’t listen to him.
When Cerny goes…
These foreign guys have not the slightest interest in Orange, Kings, Queens, Masonic, Prods, Right Wingism etc etc…
That’s why they neither care nor try for him !
