Glasgow Live is part of the Reach Media Group, an offshoot of the Daily Record.
With the Record brand beyond repair Reach have set up city based websites across the UK in a bid to get a foothold in the digital market- with the same tired agendas of the Record.
Despite their name Glasgow Live! Were unable to report from the Trongate in person, instead they relied on ‘an eyewitness’.
The accuracy of the eye-witness has to be called into question with a claim of counting ‘200 or so police officers’.
Counting to that number is quite an achievement from the ‘eye witness’, some might suggest that the story had been concocted in mid-morning and just waiting on a few images to slot in place.
It could even have been based on last year’s title celebrations with the usual facts spiced up by journalistic licence.
Publishing at 4pm, Senior Journalist Fahad Tariq of GlasgowLive reported:
An eyewitness told GlasgowLive that green flares are being set off and supporters are standing on a subway station roof.
They added: “Thousands of Celtic supporters are ignoring their club’s (11th hour) plea to stay away from the Glasgow Cross/Trongate area. It’s already mayhem even before the crowds have descended on the area from Parkhead.
“Green flares are being set off and several hundred banner-waving supporters are standing on the roof of the local subway station. There are 200 or so police here.”
There are bound to be some anti-social incidents during the course of the evening, it also happens in Edinburgh, Dundee, Aberdeen and other major cities.
The nature of the Scottish media slants coverage in one direction, as well as a dominant team on the park Celtic fans also have independent news sources that don’t present them with over ready stories to suit their agenda.
Meanwhile the Daily Record was reporting a gathering on hundreds of Celtic fans…

What ‘subway roof’ can they be standing on at the Trongate?
The old ( now closed) low level train station right in the middle of Trongate
It wasntGlasgow Live who were at it with their ‘misleading’ headlines. STV also sent out unfounded reports stating supporters celebrating in the area were ignoring council warnings to stay off the Mercat building roof, and traffic being blocked from accessing roads around the area.
The video footage I’ve seen has shown no supporters on the roof and traffic, including buses moving freely on the roads. And amazing none of Glasgows finest peace keepers evident on the street. Unless they’ve now taken receipt of Harry Potters invisibility cloaks.
There was also a report about an exchange of missiles between Celtic supporters and the dregs of the orange parade hangers on. But on reading the story, in small print, was the statement that the missiles being thrown came from the dregs of the orange parade. But why let the truth get in the way of a slanted and untrue story!
Green flares!! How fuckin dare they!! The nerve.
These same arseholes who are complaining about us celebrating are the same ones who had a jovial, boys-will-be-boys attitude towards the other mob having a party in George Square, wrecking the town and flouting lockdown rules. Hardly a word about that at the time.
Celtic have taken every record they cherished and used as a reason to lord it over us for years and it’s immense, they are broken beyond repair and it’s absolutely brilliant.
More Lies from good old Scoddland….
We should change our countries name to Liarland !!!
Most of the police were probably already there, to walk alongside with the morning hate parades.
