As the ‘Ancelotti to Ibrox hype starts to drift towards reality another multi million pounds and dollars feel good story has been launched.

Part of the San Francisco 49ers is about to be sold which values the club at $8.6bn.

Exactly the sort of feel good yarn that Evening Times readers need to get hold of after just over 30,000 fans turned up at Ibrox trying to convince themselves that Cyriel Dessers really is a top class striker.

American website Sportico has reported that a 6% stake in the 49ers is about to be sold to three families with the deal valuing the entire club at $8.6bn.

Having conjured and contrived all manner of stories to deflect from Celtic’s domination of Scottish football the Record and Evening Times have lobbed the kitchen sink into their efforts.

Where the deal actually ties in to anything to do with Charles Green’s 2012 Tribute Act is difficult to work out but that barely matters.

Last week the Record briefly touched on Financial Sustainability Regulations but that isn’t the sort of reality that keeps readers coming back for more.

It is much more useful to fill the spaces with good news- getting the name Ancelotti and $8.6bn deals into the same news cycle is like waking up to a week of sunny days with temperatures in the early 20s.

Last night the Rangers Review, part of the Newsquest group with the Evening Times threw a massive wet blanket over the Ancelotti deal.

Talks have been held, possibly between two groups of agents but Carlo’s laddie has other options with a two week timeline put on a decision over whether to go to Ibrox.

More names will continue to be linked with the manager’s job which becomes vacant tomorrow.

Barry Ferguson’s pleading to become permanent boss has been completely ignored but halfway through May the WORLD EXCLUSIVE from February 19 is no nearer to completion.

Meanwhile Celtic will collect trophy 120 tomorrow and could add to that next Saturday at Hampden.

While Arne Engels is panned from Every angle the 21-year-old Belgian could match James Tavernier’s medal collection with a victory over Aberdeen at Hampden next Saturday.

Another Selik flop, Adam Idah will be looking to hoist his medal collection to five in 14 months while the celebrated Hall of Famer will soon complete 10 years at Ibrox with three winners medals for his efforts.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement, cheers big man.
There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same more than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying every success for Scotland's Most Successful Club.

    Shite click bait

This has nothing to do with the club.
Its the engine room subsidary only so that rules out the culb.

SF 49 ers Enterprises will operate the same as they did at Leeds Utd. Start with a minority shareholding, build it up to a
dominant controlling level, then sell parcels to rich Americans as a venture capital investment. They have to join the Consortium. This time they hope to acquire 51% shareholding to start with. Celebrity Sportsmen to join the Consortium at Leeds were two American Pro Golfers, Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas. Eldraco is correct. SF 49 ers Enterprises is run as a self financing entity. I think Douglas Park might want to be part of the Consortium. The reason is obvious. Better management. A return on investment. Edmiston House for community; not a Casino. I declare, this part is a guess. No evidence whatsoever.

Editor: Dodgy Andrew Cavenagh is driving the bus, not SF49ers, anyone that deals with Dave King is clearly dodgy, or worse as three South African judges put it.

Question: When the Consortium holds the whip handle of
SF 49 Gers and is to play Leeds United in the UCL
(No, the C is Conference); which team forfeits or cannot compete from the start? I suppose it is in the UEFA rules book.

Let’s be fair lads, the last Ibrox club only sold for a pound so this incarnation is doing reasonable in comparison.

A safe sunny celebration Saturday to all the Celtic family.

At least on this Celtic site, contributors accept the reality of the Newco, unlike others who are now spouting the lie and delusion that Sevco have “55” League titles ? It’s pathetic to see that comparison being raised on so called Celtic sites, but, of course, they don’t have a comments section. Definitely off my list along with their click bait appeals to huns.

Editor: Cheers Pat, being independent is absolutely priceless. Never to be compromised.
