Barry Ferguson could barely have looked any more uncomfortable.
Over night the Daily Record had worked itself into a frenzy over Davide Ancelotti becoming the permanent manager at Ibrox, until mid-February Ferguson had been a columnist for the ailing Glasgow publisher.
Throughout the morning every contrived line possible was pushed out to cash in on the excitement associated with Davide’s surname, much like when Ianis Hagi moved to Ibrox five years ago.
Ferguson has a match against Dundee United to prepare for tomorrow night but that was a sideshow as the media messengers tried to keep their excitement to acceptable levels over the imminent arrival of Mister Ancelotti
One thing I will say is that it’s not a project. You need to start winning straight away. That’s it.
You don’t get time here. You’ve got the summer to go and build a new squad, whatever way you want to build it.
You need to go off to a very fast start and you need to make sure you win as many games as possible.
This club is built on winning and we need to start winning. That’s been the issue here and that’s clearly why there’s a number of managers that have lost their jobs over the years.
With three winners medals from over 500 matches James Tavernier proves that you can have a long Ibrox career even as a serial loser.
So Rangers need to get back to challenging and winning trophies. That’s there for everybody to see. I’m not hiding anything and I’m sure that with the changes have been made [the new owners] realise that. The supporters realise that.
Later on, after being asked about Ancelotti Ferguson warned:
I can handle the job, no problem. Everybody’s got their opinion on who’s going to be wanted for the job, or who’s going to get the job.
But this job doesn’t scare me one single bit. I know there’s a hell of a lot of work to be done. I’ve been lucky enough to be in the door and know what’s needed, and I’ve always been clear on that.
I’ll always back myself. If somebody else gets the job, I’ll still support them and I’ll still get behind them from a distance. I’ll go back to hopefully my role I had before.
Will it hurt me? No, I’ll be disappointed. I’d be lying if I’m sitting here and saying otherwise. Yeah, I’ll be disappointed, but do you know what?
I’m a big boy, I’ll get on with it and I’ll move on. And as I said, whoever’s in the job, I hope gets the full support of everybody. Because as I said, this club’s not been successful enough for a number of years.
Do you know what?
Aye Bammy we do, and what we know is that you are a swivel eyed moronic FUD.
Excellent hun manager material in other words.
Should he stay then he will be ok as Football Insider have just posted online that the next sevco manager will have a transfer kitty of £25 million to spend for starters, and that’s not counting what comes in to spend for the duds going out.
The new klub are cash rich, the only thing is they have done more TAPPING than a blind man’s stick.
Oh dear a sevco player makes a post on social media and Football Insider are all excited about it because a Man U player and Liverpool player liked it,what the fuck.
Bazza just needs more time: he’ll come good.
He deserves a full season.
No, he does…
🙂
Correct.me if i am missing something here the most successful club in the world have not been successful for a number of years now is that what he said ?. How many years is that then if they are still claiming that title ? .
No wonder he doesn’t get any respect speaking like an utter know-nothing troglodyte- his children must have a loan of the brain cell this week.
Shoulda stay or should I go now…
Oops a Clash with The Board and The Scummy’s now…
Hey Hey – Whats not to like there then !
