The disconnect between the Celtic board and ordinary fans has been stepped up.

On what should be a day of complete celebration the club has further distanced themselves from their one and only source of income.

It is fans that buy Season Tickets, Adidas merchandise and that attract sponsors allowing UEFA to make payments of around £40m to the club.

Every area of revenue is driven by the supporters.

The uneasy relationship between the club and customers is constantly growing as the club cashes in at every opportunity while distancing themselves from hard core support on a number of issues.

Despite a bank balance that fluctuates between £80-60m depending on season activities a 5% increase was recently put on Season Tickets.

The biggest spend on any season is paying HMRC around £10m a year Corporation Tax demonstrating that the club has far more money than they know what do to do with.

The Green Brigade has a different set of values, values that most supporters are in broad agreement with.

Recent attempts to stage Tifos at home matches have been turned down, now the club has decided to outsource for a tame display that is likely to be ignored by a significant number of supporters.

Alongside the increase in Season Ticket prices there is unrest over the ticket distribution for the Scottish Cup Final.

Season Ticket holders on the Home Cup Ticket Scheme are finding Cup Final tickets harder to come by while more and more Parks of Hamilton coaches make the shuttle run from Celtic Park to Hampden filled with corporates.

A pre-season friendly against Newcastle has been branded the Adidas Cup with Season Ticket holders being charged £25 for a glorified friendly.

While Michael Nicholson refuses to say anything about anything it falls on the shoulders of Vil Suinisalo to speak out about the 30 to 40 missiles aimed at him during the recent Glasgow Derby.

In February 2022 Nicholson signed Celtic up for the Sydney Super Cup which was built around a match against their O** F*** business partners.

Today Celtic’s media partners will be given prime seats and access to players and management while the same publications prepare to demonise fans for their post match celebrations in the city centre.

Joe McHugh has edited Video Celts since 2010, every day covering events in and around Scotland's most successful club.

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.

Until lawell and Nicholson are chased from OUR club we will never reach our potential as a football club

  • The Bunnet says:

Nicholson does not appear to have understood the school motto (AMDG), or is just ignoring it. He also does not seem to understand the club’s early beginnings and its connection with the poor. In my opinion he does NOT belong at Celtic and does not have anywhere near the qualities of the previous incumbent Dominic MacKay, who everyone except Peter Lawwell and company could see was a much finer and communicative human being.

I believe Lawwell felt threatened by Dominic and that is why he was removed. No other reason can be possible as Dominic MacKay is a proven, thoroughly impressive and competent individual with excellent communication skills. I dearly wish he was still there, but he is now probably glad he isn’t.

What was the story behind his rather abrupt departure?

Was it just a clash of personalities?

      Anyone know…?

  • John S says:

The Green Brigade are not representative of Celtic fans, they are self-serving, divisive, anti-Semite, political illiterates. Furthermore they have repeatedly cost the club in fines and reputation.

Editor: How are the lads at CQN getting on? Best to share that sort of view with Paul and the rest of the Balance Sheet Loyal.

The Tifo message from Mike Nicholson would read “that would be an ecumenical matter.”

OMG that picture of Nicholson. A face only a mother could love.

This chancer is on 750k per year, to do what? Who knows?

A square peg in a round hole if ever there was one.
