After more than a decade lapping it up, trebles, championships and more chapters than The Banter Years could cope with it seems that Celtic’s days of joy and glory are over.
Again.
Yesterday afternoon, with an embargoed press release in hand, the fear that has stocked Celtic fans for years was released. ‘Rangers’ are back.
Not just back but dominant- happy and glorious, the full works. With the production of one press release low on FACTS! but high on moonbeams loyal bears were given the news that they had waited for.
There hasn’t been a reaction like it since Aaron Ramsey was signed on loan from Juventus in January 2022 to put Selik back in their boax.
It was similar to the scenes in May 2011 when Craig Whyte was cheered down Edmiston Drive as chairman of the club 13 months before liquidation.
Or like March 2015 when the Three Bears plus Mister King brought regime change into play.
Hugh Keevins has cheered on every Revolution and a good few more besides, it was fitting that the veteran broadcaster got to soak up the reaction last night on Super Scoreboard as all the John’s, Gordy’s, Rossco’s, Fraser’s and Cameron’s were released from their 13 year nightmare- held hostage to gloating Selik supporters.

As the bears celebrated the issue of a press release there was no one around to ask the real questions.
Why was there no mention of the San Francisco 49ers on the Companies House website?
Why was there no media conference with the new owners, not even an in-house Rangers TV interview to lift quotes from?
What is the name of Cavenagh’s consortium?
What price has been paid for the 51% of the club shares?
Who has sold the shares?
What are the benefits of taking the club private which will  end the 12 year custom of having an AGM?
How delighted is Douglas Park that the club he has propped up for a decade with loans, share issues and sponsorship deals is now going into private hands with none of the new owners saying a word in public?
A one hour edition of SSB will run through June every weekday with the editions on June 23 and 24 likely to be very enlightening.
“That’s how you get demotion to the 4th tier”
No club got demoted! A new Rangers had to apply to join. Remember they wanted to join SPL, then Div 1 but eventually had to join the 4th tier? Where’s the demotion??
Never mind Hugh, you can’t bite the hand that feeds you, right?? pic.twitter.com/wQ5xny6aHr

Pretty sure I have heard that before.

Once again I feel I need to point out that there has never been a Football club/team named Glasgow rangers
Even the original club/team that went into administration and then liquidated in 2012 was name RANGERS FOOTBALL CLUB.
Hope this helps— Neil (NEERU)????????? (@mcfadzean_neil) May 31, 2025
75m for 51% loss coming this season of £25m and £35m debt for last season loans including and share issue from few months ago. A new share issue making the hun mugs pay for their own £20m player budget ?? cheap as chips manager will be appointed THIS MOB WANT THEIR CASH BACK ?

Hugh Keevins is a liar, and is deliberately ignoring legal information regarding demotion, he states that demotion, in terms, is a factual. I’d like to challenge him on this matter. For the record, at no point were rangers demoted, hugh is another continuation wizzard !

The £20m is not investing in a new team but mostly paying off debt, keeping them afloat. Celtic have 4x that amount available in the bank. The challenge there tho’ is to spend it wisely.

Here we go again Rodney, this time next year pic.twitter.com/4quMbp7oQt

£20m investment for on and off park activities to be underwritten by fans via a share issue. The gullabillies lap this up.

They said the same about whyte and Green and cockney Mike. The most gullible fans in football. I’d be vary weary about Americans taking of my club or the company I worked for. Americans are always looking for money. They don’t care about anything else

Andy gray was told in a live radio broadcast that the team he supported and played for now no longer exists the Internet has many faults but it gives the ordinary people the chance to remind the gutless media of the truth. Lest we forget the facts of 2012
Should that not be LEASED we forgot scousebhoy given these these fuckin beggars and thieving bastards are always borrowing anything and everything !
Unfortunately, Scousebhoy, quite a few Celtic sites use the R word to described the current club playing out of Ibrox. When challenged the usual response is silence…or banning from their sites. Democracy at work, I guess. For those of us who went through the protest years(1990-94), and had to listen to ‘Simply The Best’ as we endured another scudding at Ibrox, during the Huns 9IAR years, the death of Rangers was wonderful. Magnificent. Magical. Revisionist 5th columnists within our support, should be called out at every opportunity.
Hail Hail.
Post of the year so far Magua…
Someone should ask Hugh if it is the club or company that the Americans have bought.
It was keevins who said those immortal words nobody at the time mentioned any fictional company holding engines rooms . We will never ever tire of remembering the gutless mob that they told the truth at the time when 140 years of history ended.
Look. I suspect someone or entities have loaned shares to prop up the 51%. Not unusual. This has play left in it
Shug, we know, you know……….
Here’s a couple of clues about their future.
Slippy, an unemployed excuse of a manager, didn’t like what he heard fae the yanks and walked away.
The plastic Ancelotti, currently begging a 2nd division Spanish club to take him on, didn’t entertain the yanks and their plans either, go figure…….
HH
Look on the bright side, this is always the reaction to even the slightest chink of hope, but we also know that this hope also comes with pressure, once the season kicks off and its not going the way they expect…….well…we all know what happens then…that hope becomes a weapon…imagine that weapon whennits a private company and there ain’t nobody listening….the best is yet to come.
A world exclusive from Keith Jackson so it must be true.Luis Enrique has a private jet booked to fly in from Munich after the CL celebrations to sign as Sevco’s new manager.
Did the Consortium ask RIFC to dismiss the Academy Squads and close their training center before the takeover?. On a cost efficiency basis it is logical to think that Leeds United Academy, can take Scottish recruited youth players U18 to U21s. The Glasgow Club to pay costs.
The Americans may not be aware that St. Mirren, Hibernian and Aberdeen are threats to their dominance in Scottish football. They might start off being lilliputiens rather than giants.
Fakeover or takeover Joe. Make up your mind.
Editor: Ask Keef #WATP
Jeez Ed – He canny ask Jackshun of The biggest Scummy of The Scummy’s…
The man is a crazed Pathological Liar with a Crazed Crayon !!!
To Jimmy,
It’s a fake takeover. Its has actually been a hijacking from under the supports nose with not a ‘hey you just haud oan a minute thur’ from the fans.
The Club has just been rebranded and the Company will be privatised removing Transparency, Consultation and Accountability. The new Club / Company will be run from Stateside by email and Zoom. No need for Cavanagh and his pals in the Consortium to ever set foot in Ibrox again. Paddy Stewart CEO pro temp, will be the one in the firing line.
Oh well, it was good while it lasted at Parkhead. 🙂
Now that the Yanks are here to ‘save’ sevco
they just have to sign that top quality “Head Coach”,
and then just buy up top quality players from across Europe?
Well, that’s what the bears are assuming will happen… ?
Just to say a big congratulations to PSG on finally catching up with Celtic in bringing home the European Cup/UCL. Coincidentally, the opponents were also Inter!!!!
