The Daily Record has struck digital gold with the phrase £120m.
Recently the ailing Glasgow publisher has taken to describing anyone involved in Andrew Cavenagh’s consortium as a takeover king. Cavenagh is of course a pharmaceutical tycoon.
On Monday the Record decided that a looming £120m share issue at Leeds United could instantly translated into a £120m transfer kitty for Dave Ancelotti.
The Leeds issue is mainly to fund a massive ground redevelopment with the loose change going to Daniel Farke to bolster his squad for the demands of the EPL.
With the Blue Room once again bare and Celtic fans basking in the joy of being Scotland’s Most Successful Club the Record has gone overboard with feel-good stories for their declining army of readers.
Just like takeover kingpins it seems that £120m will be used in the headlines to generate online traffic even if it results in the further trashing of the Record’s remaining credibility.

Surely at some point someone says halt when they include Josh Mulligan and £120m but with AI feeding off content from Record Sport anything is possible.
There is no mention of the £120m transfer kitty in the story which hilariously has Charlton ready to snatch the Dundee defender away from Europe’s richest club.
Record Sport transfer guru Scott Burns has revealed that the Ibrox powerbrokers have held talks with the out of contract 22-year-old.
However, the majority of transfer business is on hold until the club they sort their next manager – with Charlton Athletic also eyeing Mulligan.
The club they sort out their next manager? It seems that no-one at the Record carries out even skim-reading of their content.
With talks paused for Mulligan it appears to be a similar story for winger Cerny.
Strange behaviour for a club with a £120m transfer kitty but enturely predictable content out of the Daily Record.
Is Michael Nicholson doing a world class job as Celtic CEO?
YES- We are lucky to have such a visionary leader
No- Where is he and what does he actually do?

I don’t know if it is true but I have heard Ancelotti snr will be joining his son at Ibrox and has convinced the whole of the Brazilian National team to join them.
I think there is a good chance it is kosher as it was from woman at a bus stop who told me and the DR journalists were also there taking notes.
You heard it here first.
If indeed it is true, then we are well and truly ******.
I love their use of apostrophes in the headlines, pretty much signifies ‘made up’. But then I suppose a lot of their readers don’t know what the difference is between that and quotation mark they’ve been swallowing it for so long!
Got to tell you that growing up in Ireland and being educated about the history of the island , the Famine , cromwell , the Burning of Cork , Bloody sunday at croke park just a few to mention and there is lots more , we used to have a history class and after that we’d have an english class , lots of the boys would be in tears as i was , we didn’t give a fuk fer the english tongue or pronunciations !!
Yes that’s true , but Inaction has given the entire multiverse a heads up about Andrew Cavenagh on the tepid ‘ hotline live tonight …another daily Record world tabloid exclusive ! The health insurance salesman ‘ might ‘ be coming over the pond to oversee all player transactions … personally , in person , swooping into Ibroxland . Now , nobody knows a word if he has bought out anybody’s shares or not ..but the big man is calling the shots ? Talk about selling bags of sand to desert nomads ?
Stop clicking it and the cunts that are writing this garbage will be back working in Dominos
Great point Harold – I simply will NEVER look at it and no true Celtic supporter should ever look at The Scummy either…
Video Celts will bring it to us for FREE !
Editor: Seriously a couple of clicks aren’t going to save the Record, it takes an awful lot of clicks followed by staying on the site for a few minutes to replace buying the paper edition. Digital advertising measures how long, how many impressions each visitor makes, a simple click and close no longer impresses.
“…the Record’s remaining credibility.”
You’re being very generous there!
It’s defo got the feel of a ‘Craig Whyte level’ car crash about to hit The DR?
Just how – exactly – will Jackson come clean, and admit it’s just all nonsense?
Or, more likely, what absolute bollox will he dream up as the ‘real reason’ for the
takeover failing…?
Popcorn on standby! 🙂
Even big DONALD couldn’t get away with that shite FAKE NEWS.
Slightly off piste, I can only assume on the poll that 203 souls of a blue right-wing persuasion have voted for Michael Nicholson. Who in our fraternity thinks that man or any of the board are doing a good job. I believe, in years to come, we’ll look back on this season as bang average. This from a Celtic supporter of sixty years. Never missed a league game in 77/78 with a 15-6-15 record and finishing fifth. With our resources, we should have beat the huns five times and won a treble. We were cheated out of trebles in 68, 70, 72, and 15. The blame for 25 is on the board.
