Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Daniel Cummings is on his way from Celtic to West Ham.
The teenage striker is out of contract with Celtic due a development fee based on his time inside the Celtic Academy.
Cummings made just one first team appearance, coming on as a lae substitute away to Aston Villa in the Champions League.
Jonny Kenny was ineligible for that match, with his availability Cummings dropped out of contention for the remainder of the season with his move to West Ham hardly a secret.
During the season just finished the teenage striker scored 23 goals in 28 Lowland League matches but it will be six goals in seven UEFA Youth League matches that will have caught the eye of his new employers.

Cummings follows in the footsteps of Rocco Vata and Daniel Kelly who left Celtic last summer for Watford and Millwall, the most recent examples of the stream of young prospects leaving Celtic before they had made any first team impact.
Ben Doak is the highest profile player in that category, leaving in the summer of 2022 for Liverpool after two substitute appearances for the Celtic first team.
Next season Celtic’s best young prospects will again be playing in the Lowland League.

If you were a store Manager with Asda earning say £750 per week…and Tesco came along and offered you £1500 per week ..to stack shelves…What would you do ?? It’s all about money in most cases…and who can blame them ?
Editor: If you had played two seasons in the Lowland League up against Civil Service Strollers, Stirling Uni, Caledonian Braves, Broomhill Sports Club and had watched former team-mates end up with clubs in the Lowland League would the chance to move to a club with a track record for developing young players into professionals carry any appeal?

Editor: More money is a nice sideline but after the Celtic Academy there is nothing at the club. Ask Aaron Hickey why he left for Hearts and ask his former Celtic team-mates if they made the right decision to stay at Celtic (clue, none of them are playing football full time).

FFS, getting to the stage that the Celtic youth academy is a total waste of time. Celtic are very hesitant to give them any game time and they all just leave.

Unfortunately Ben Doak has played for Liverpool, so he has played with a bigger club.
Daniel Kelly has been injured for a large chunk of the season. I know his family very well. A lad who gave 10 years to the club and was treated like shit on a shoe despite wanting to sign with Celtic. He did in fact sign his 1st professional contract, knocking back deals from Premier League clubs so he wanted to stay. If it was about money he would have went to Leverkusen who offered him a deal but he didnt see the pathway there. People go on about greedy parents, agents and players, however these people don’t know that this boy was made to sign a non disclosure before he left the club. 16 points he was unable to talk about from the manager to the CEO. Speaks volumes and in all honesty goes to show why all these boys leave. If you’re a Celtic fan you’re treated like crap, if you signed from another club you have zero affiliation and treated better. People don’t want to believe it as its Celtic etc etc but it’s embarrassing the way these boys are treated.
John Paul Dykes has posted stuff on Cummings as he knows his father John. The boy was allowed to go out of contract for 3 weeks prior to Celtic offering the lad a deal. If they cared about him they would have sorted it.
The head of the academy “thought” Kelly had 1 year left.of his deal when he was told he was free to talk to other clubs as he was in the last.6.months. Honest to god, the head of the academy not knowing when our best prospects are going out of contract. Imagine you were running a business and you didn’t know anything about your staff.

Unfortunately people will never remove the green tinted glasses and are sucked in by the Celtic narrative. Joe McHugh nailed it at the AGM when he challenged the CEO and Co on the miss management of our academy. This lead to him being shot down with typical arrogant answers you come to expect from our key stakeholders. Deflect, deflect, deflect 24/7.
If anyone thinks all these Celtic supporting kids are leaving for money they are miles from it. The answer is they are being treated like crap.
