A reporter for the Glasgow Times/ Glasgow Herald has opened his heart on why Lennon Miller should decide against moving to one of two Glasgow football clubs this summer.
Even Graeme McGarry knows that only one of the city clubs could afford to sign the Motherwell midfielder- he won’t be joining Connor Barron and Lyall Cameron in an all-star midfield next season.
Even if it is genuinely what he feels McGarry should keep those thoughts to himself when he collects a monthly salary from publishers utterly dependent on a Glasgow based audience.
The Herald and Evening Times are part of the Newsquest Group where Johnny McFarlane is the Head of Digital Sport.
Among the ideas flowing from the great man are dedicated newsletters and Substack accounts for Motherwell, Kilmarnock and St Mirren.
Fans of those clubs can see straight through token coverage, they already have their own trusted online sources for club news.
Sharing the wisdom of their Motherwell Newsletter the Herald produces:
Motherwell kid Lennon Miller should avoid Celtic or Rangers
This isn’t said solely because I don’t much fancy seeing Lennon Miller curl a rasper into the top corner at Fir Park for either side of the Old Firm, a la David Turnbull, next season, but when he does inevitably leave Motherwell this summer, I hope he broadens his horizons beyond these shores.
In fact, that desire is mostly motivated by a wish to see the newly-crowned Scottish Football Writers’ Association Young Player of the Year (the only award that really matters, let’s be honest) make the absolute best of his ability – both for him personally and for the national team.
Of course, money will talk, and if either Celtic or Rangers pony up the requisite dough, then fair enough. But if it comes down to a choice of heading to one of Glasgow’s big two and seeking a new adventure elsewhere, it would be great to see him plump for the latter.
With access to Celtic media conferences McGarry can put his views to Brendan Rodgers today or ahead of next week’s Scottish Cup Final.
Is he another souper in the making,Joe?
Editor: A Lanarkshire Chick Young, won’t admit his real time, utterly clueless for the GLASGOW Herald to fill a space urging a talented Scottish player not to join one of the clubs that the Herald is dependent on for content and readers.
Why wid u join the FILTH & ruin ur Career b4 ur 21! They’ve no got 2 Bob NO MATTER whit Rags like this Print! All Star Midfield ae Barhun, Camerhun & Wee Bawwy Fergushun LOL!!
Nope still cant
Lol what a clown,oh how we feel his pain of his klub having not a pot to piss in,but still clutching at straws hoping the player will choose sevco.
You see that’s what they are left with now the followers of sevco,it’s all ifs buts and maybes.
As for Anchelotti jnr,it makes you think of the Dick Emery sketch from years ago,him and Roy Kinnear playing father son, dressed the same doing everything the same only for the son to always fuck it up,the punchline was and it always ended with, dad ah think I got it wrong again.
If Sevco “pony up the dough” it won’t be money but the ingredients of a half-baked orange dumpling as that’s about as much as they can afford!
“Aye, aye, but, but, ra 49ers taykovurr ‘nat…”
They might be able to sign Miller’s grandson by the time it happens….if it ever does…
In other words McGarry is saying get to feck out of Dodge as the quality is not too clever and could very well be damaging in trying to further yourself? All from a scoop whose entire working life is reliant on the very thing he is telling people , is not good for advancement ! To say that this numpty is a charlatan too , would not be adequate enough a description !
And in news just in, from the Record, as predicted by our host – Ancelotti junior has decided to stick with his dad and deliver a boot in the baws to the new manager search over Govan way.
Lies just in from The (Scummy) Record !
