Over the last couple of years James Tavernier has been the number one figure of fun for Celtic fans, affectionately dubbed Captain Disappointment for his inspiring leadership role.
Down the years the former Wigan ace has been a laughing stock as he racks up worthless accolades while looking on at helplessly at the most dominant period in Scottish football history.
John Greig only watched Celtic win two trebles during his 18 years as a Rangers player, by the end of this month Tav could be wearing the armband through six Celtic trebles.
While James Forrest and Callum McGregor collect a winners medal after every 20 appearances the legendary Ibrox skipper has to slog his way through 180 matches for each of his three medals.
The look on Captain Disappointed , the hall of famers face as he chases down Maeda..The fear is real ?????? pic.twitter.com/aXG06XHjKP

Tavernier’s lack of any defensive ability has been a feature of the Glasgow Derby in recent years, highlighted even more so by the pace of Daizen Maeda.
The image above highlights the contest between the two men, on Sunday Maeda getting in behind Captain Disappointed led to Adam Idah’s equalising goal.
The incident pictured came in the seventh minute of extra-time as Tavernier feared a repeat of a familiar scenario.
Alas, this time it wasn’t to be for Maeda, the effect of a midweek visit to Japan and just one training session.

I have no love/ respect for Rangers but I think Tav has been a great servant to them. Supporters have short memories.
Editor: A well paid ‘servant’ on £40,000 a week soon to be topped up by his Testimonial Match against glamour opponents. Tav is respected more by opposing fans than his own, hopefully another contract extension with a coaching role is being discussed.
I agree with you …he’s not a good defender …but I also agree with Larry’s point…he has been a great servant to their club…you can’t deny that surely ??…And the fact that their support are arseholes… is a given.
So the Onion Daw-bears are bragging about the banner displayed on Sunday and laughing at it now the police are doing nothing about it the matter is now closed.
The Onion Daw-bears put it out there it was only people outside their klub that highlighted the banner and it being offensive, well someone better let Onion Daw-bears know it was their own klub that highlighted it as well,
Apparently more banners are on their way fir the next 2 games, keep them coming, because the more the Yanks that are supposedly ready to take over the klub see this, the more they will be put off and walk away.
This something the board don’t want to happen hence them calling the banner out,the Yanks are a last throw of the dice,if it doesn’t come off ADMINISTRATION is just round the corner, because nobody else at that klub just now are going to put another penny into it.
Tavernier is the best crosser and dead ball expert in Scotland and a maestro compared to Engels.
The fact that it hasn’t donned on them to play him on the wing and someone else at right back shows how stupid these people are.
Mind you I wouldn’t put it past BR to do the same.
He can be the best crosser of the ball forever more and his replacement as well as long as it’s only three medals outta thirty or whatever his pish pot jerker stats are !
Charlie Green has been on the charlie with that crazy comment. Engles first year at celtic new country and still has more goals and assists than 90% of rangers players but Tav best dead ball expert in Scotland away you go
Brian, perhaps it’s the Guinness but first year or not if you are a professional footballer and can’t hit a ball 25 yards with accuracy then perhaps you should find another occupation.
Don’t get me started on Hatate…
