There will be plenty of high-fiving in the Ancelotti family tonight with their recent media exercise working to perfection.
Two weeks ago friendly messengers in the Spanish and Italian media were informed that young Dave was heading to Scotland in mid-June to take charge at Ibrox.
Not just that but a three year contract had been agreed with Francesco Mauri coming from Rel Madrid to lay out the bibs and cones at Murray Park.
The Scottish media was all over it, every Spanish and Italian source was described as respected, soon the stories from the Scottish media were bouncing back to Spain and Italy with top spin.
Suddenly there was interest in Dave, a man in demand rather than someone shadowing Daddy, unable to stand up for himself and get a job off his own back.
Barry Ferguson was pure raging, he shouldn’t have worried, it wasn’t difficult to put the jigsaw pieces together.
On Wednesday BBC Scotland and Guillem Balague played their part with an incredible work of fiction.
Dave has Luka Modric and half of the Real Madrid dressing room waiting to up sticks and head for darkest Ibrox.
With one provision- a quick decision was needed, Friday or early next week since other world giants were sitting waiting on word from Dave.
The plan has worked a treat, reluctantly this afternoon the Daily Record reported:
There could also be a battle to land Ancelotti with reports in Spain claiming that Ancelotti is keen on a switch to the Segunda Division after an ambitious approach.
Estadio Deportivo report that current boss Oscar Gilsanz’s future has yet to be decided after a disappointing campaign which failed to end in promotion to La Liga.
It is claimed the club has “expressed interest” in an appointment which has caught the attention of Ancelotti despite ongoing talks with Rangers with the opportunity “in his sights”.
And the?Scottish Premiership?side could be facing a second attempted hijack of the deal from newly-promoted Serie A side Pisa.
Sesta Sports claim that the Italian coach has seen his named floated as a replacement for Filippo Inzaghi.
The former Italy striker faces an uncertain future despite leading the club back to the Italian top flight after breakdown in the relationship with the club’s owner Alexander Knaster and CEO Giovanni Corrado.
With Steven Gerrard walking away it is beginning to look like Russell Martin is the last man standing.
If Leicester move swiftly Ibrox fans will be spared from having the most WOKE manager in the UK donning a blazer and brogues, leaving the way clear for another Real Rainjurz Man with David Martindale enjoying incredible positive media treatment.

Dropping names for the post of manager or players to Sevco fans is just like having a ball in your hand for the dog….doesn’t matter what your doing or saying, as soon as you throw that ball, the dog is all in on the ball…the ball has its full attention…tail wagging, tongue hanging out in excitement.
Next name please…..throw the next name…
The clock is still ticking: over a week since Bazza was punted.
At some point, sevco is going to have to announce its new manager.
A manager who is willing to manage without a transfer kitty,
and who will probably just have to ‘work with the players he’s given’?
A club which is cash poor, and probably staring at further cost-cutting / downsizing?
Now, what standard of manager would be attracted to that scenario…?
Lol there will be some other dopey fuck getting a mention tomorrow for the job with the headlines being he was the klubs number 1 target from the start, with sprinklers and gold stars attached to the name.
Give it to that Sevco Bitchett Jo Potter…
At least she won a double with Sevco Bitchetts !
Do you think Italian and Spanish publications are saying stories emanating from Scotland about the newest theRangers head coach are being reported by ‘ respected ‘ Scottish journalists ? One look at the daily Record’s Hotline Live , will give them the definitive answer !
