With the UEFA competitions winding up tomorrow in Munich the prize money has almost been finalised.
Naturally the Champions League dominates, to such an extent that Celtic’s direct payments from UEFA is greater than Spurs who won the Europa League last week.
One consolation for Spurs is that their win over Manchester United earns them a place in the big tournament next season.
Consisting of varying factors around points gained, progress made and media markets Celtic are expected to be paid 46.2m euros.
With the exchange rate varying around £38m will be paid to Celtic for five Champions League matches.
On top of that the club had five sell out fixtures with hospitality packages involved and possibly bonus payments from sponsors.
In total those matches will probably add around £50m to turnover but there are costs covering bonus payments, VAT on tickets and matchday costs such as policing and additional staff as well as the cost of travel to five cities.

Celtic will discover on August 4 their route back into the Champions League with a seeded spot in the Play Off round.
The Third Round and Play Off draw will be made at the same time with a range of possible opponents from Basel and Slovan Bratislava through to Rijeka, the newly crowned champions of Croatia.
Those matches will take place on August 19/20 and 26/27, success takes Celtic back into the big time, failure and it’ll be Thursday nights through until January.

Well a share of that income, .should help with the running costs of a heated driveway….If you have such a thing of course.
Sell first and take a spin on the roulette wheel on the 31st of August.
Nobody in till the big money sales go out.
Better known as Pistol Pete’s Player Poker.
Wait till the best price can be achieved for our player, low ball any player we are interested in, hang out till the last minute, miss out for the sake of a few quid more and end up panic buying from further down the list and paying what we would’ve got the original target for anyway.
Hey presto…PL’s end of season bonus secured as the bank balance remains solid.
Editor: Lawwellcenomics, perfect summary.
It doesn’t really matter what Celtic get in as I doubt that the board and BR have the right stuff to use it wisely.
I don’t believe they will thinking about changing their tactics both on and off the field until it is too late.
Unfortunately, the new guys at Sevco are serious people and the confidence that will bring will be immense and a game changer.
We can always force them out if it comes to the bit…
A few more and ramped up levels of the riots after The Ross County Game at the end of 2020 would see to that for sure…
But we are a gazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzillion miles away from that right now !
