He failed to score against Aberdeen but there was no doubting who was the Man of the Match as Celtic turned on the style at Pittodrie.

James Forrest was outstanding.

A combination of know how and selective bursts of pace left the home side demoralised with Graeme Shinnie realising that playing at left back isn’t for him long before he was replaced in the 58th minute.

Forrest was involved in almost everything Celtic created, none more so than in first half stoppage time when his driving run created the chance for Yang Hyun-jun to edge Celtic back in front.

The second half was a master class from Forrest and Celtic as they demoralised Aberdeen ahead of the Scottish Cup Final.

A goal for the 16th season running proved to be elusive but there was o doubting Forrest’s value and contribution to the victory.

Nicolas Kuhn will probably get the nod to start in the Scottish Cup Final but the prospect of Celtic’s veteran winger coming off the bench will be one to haunt the Aberdeen players as they prepare for Hampden.

Last nights team would win the league
Forrest has at least one more season in him

Well played James Forrest, great performance last night at Pittodrie, still the most direct attacking force on the books. Not one for endless recirculation Jamesy moves forward, towards the goal, inside or outside makes no difference, unsettles the second defender as he blisters past the first. More to come from James Forrest.

I think Forrest is a great player but the reason he doesn’t get the plaudits is because, of his more than 100 goals, only two are against the clubs from Ibrox. He seemed to disappear against them and I always put it down to the abuse from the opposition fans.

What about putting him in the midfield in his “old age” as they don’t do much?

I think the man of the match was young Sean McArdle, albeit only on for 10 mins, and I think he will be massive ( you heard it here first). He is what has been missing for years, probably damn him in BR’s eyes, a midfielder who runs into the box and he must play in the final.

I haven’t been as excited about a player since Larsson’s first game.

James Forrest is a great winger Rodgers plays him sparingly bring him on as super sub but some supporters are only appreciate what bring the team rather than what he dosent an out and out winger not a wing back don’t expect him to dive into 50/50thats what some supporters never treated him well but what he does hold onto the ball usually two men on him he didn’t attack the bye line cause he couldn’t guarantee the opposition cleared it and with our midfield up the park we are under pressure the manager can rely on him not giving ball away scottish refs never protect our footballers against the boot boys for some reason refs never book defender fir the first unlawful tackle look lastnight Aberdeen should have been playing with 8 men first red card tackle on the South Korean straight red then there centre half four arm block on McGown at Aberdeen corner not even a foul given the the big black midfielder how might have finished Hiata season with a wild kick after ref blew for foul he got booked eventually pulling back his fellow country man schlup he running around fouling fouled johnston cause he was to strong for him he took khunn out of play ref played advantage but should have went back and booked uts am was a poor game for ref who dosent give Celtic anything Griffiths header in semi final blatant hand ball everybody in the stadium seen it he did to but never gave it penalty and player sent off cost Celtic dearly why Celtic have not put in a report about his refereeing Aberdeen game was one of many SFA watch repays of these games have to suspend him or even ask how he misses all these decisions against one team yes Celtic_fc_1888
