Even by Celtic standards the drama and conclusion to the SPFL season was ridiculous.
Throughout history Celtic are famed for the delivery of late goals, adding to the excitement of pulling victory from the jaws of defeat.
Saturday against St Mirren was technically one of those dead rubbers but no-one inside Celtic Park was going along with that script.
Since his spring time return from injury fans have been waiting to celebrate James Forrest scoring for the 16th season running.
The games have been getting ticked off, the award of a penalty has been elusive, in midweek at Aberdeen Forrest became the King of the assists. Maik Nawrocki and Jonny Kenny scored their first Celtic goals but it remained elusive to the man with 25 winners medals.
The wait went on, he started against St Mirren before getting the call to replace Nicolas Kuhn in the 53rd minute.

In the 93rd minute of the 38th SPFL match it all fell into place.
The ball was worked from left to right, to Alistair Johnstone who rolled it right to Forrest. With one swing of his boot he sent a low shot beyond Zack Hemmings and into the net.
The final scoreline was 1-1 but that didn’t begin to tell the tale of the match.

It was a well taken, and placed strike: made it look easy. 🙂
Glad he got it but would have been confident of him bagging one in the cup final if not yesterday !!!
