There was joy for Internet Bampots this morning with the news that Davide Ancelotti had knocked back the chance to lead the San Francisco 49ers Revolution at Ibrox.

News of the deal broke on Monday night, every Scottish media outlet duly bigged up the appointment of a 35-year-old rookie who had never played a game of football or managed a team in his life.

It was a statement of intent from the ‘takeover kings’ as a famous surname moved into Ibrox just as Ianis Hagi was packing his suitcase with just one winners medal to show for five seasons hard graft.

There was absolutely nothing to stand up the Ancelotti story but it provided loyal bears with a couple of days excitement as they weighed up which Real Madrid players would be joining Ross McCausland, John Souttar and Lyall Cameron at Ibrox next season.

Every possible angle of spin was applied, in mid-morning the story was shot down from Spain to the surprise of no-one with a passing grasp of reality.

The reaction to Ancelotti was virtually the exact same as when Barry Ferguson was linked with the job of caretaker manager.

Initially there is anger and fury at a rookie being heavy linked, after a few hours thought it is an exciting development, just what the club needs with most bears all-in. Then reality bites.

After a day of angry reaction from legacy media outlets Carlo’s boy will be forgotten about as attention turns to the next managerial moonbeam.

The truth of it all is that Barry Ferguson is increasingly looking like next season’s manager with David Martindale the only other realistic option.

The funniest most hilarious time in their short history was when they finished third in a one horse race in the lower league 42 points behind the winners then got skelped 6-1 in the play offs sleakit may have walked away before it all came crashing down but it was his team his signings who failed big time making the so called journey last another year.

FAKE NEWS about the Davide just like the FAKEOVER,we all had known from the start it was a crash& burn story.

  • The Joker says:

Maybe that world class breakfast isn’t good enough him,now let’s move to another nickel&dime name to be linked for another couple weeks of FAKE NEWS.

Watch how the ARSEHOLES in the Scottish press try to put a positive spin on a knockback.

I’m telling you all now Warnock will get it,but it will be a nice wee game of management bingo with the ARSEHOLE journalists.

Wouldn’t surprise me to see the courier bagman at Livingston get the call to work along side wee Benjamin.

So a story on an I rox forum the other ran with rumour that De Bruyne was on his way ibrox,I posted that on here and one of those dopey James Hunts swallowed it,oh dear.
I work over Kinning Park way and the local shop I go into the guy likes a bit of banter, calls himself a prodistani,I like to noise him up on a daily basis and the De Bruyne story was one that pushed on him that day.
There klan members in and out of his shop every day so I know he would have mentioned the De Bruyne story I told him,I said De Bruyne and Anchelotti jnr are best mates hence the reason he was going to ibrox,he must have put it out there.

Two days ago he was the young brains behind Real Madrid

Set pieces amongst other things were his speciality

All Madrid’s young players idolised him because he was so good .

Today they’re rushing out podcasts saying they’ve dodged a bullet

    • HC Andersen says:

Yes Harold after a week of bumming him up,with quotes from Jude Bellingham etc, he’s being labelled as a ‘Hail Mary’ gamble and that they’ve dodged a bullet, and that the Takeover kings have more important things to do than babysit a project manager.
You couldn’t make it up…….well actually in hindsight that’s exactly what they’ve been doing all along.

  • Brattbakk says:

I’m sometimes unsure when you’re taking the pish Joe, Barry or Martindale? If either of them get it then I genuinely don’t believe the tribute act will be in the top 2 next year.
