Alistair Johnston and Tony Ralston were among the team-mates that reacted to Greg Taylor’s ‘farewell’ post on Instagram.
With his contract about to expire the former Kilmarnock defender added ‘lived it and loved it’ to an image of him holding aloft the SPFL Premiership trophy.
It wasn’t the most cryptic of messages but didn’t quite close the door on his six year Celtic career.

Taylor joined Celtic in August 2019 with concerns that Boli Bolingoli wasn’t anywhere close to the task of replacing Kieran Tierney.
Jonny Hayes also competed for the left-back slot, when he was released Diego Laxalt proved to be as useless as Bolingoli in that role.
Under Ange Postecoglou Taylor was reinvented as Celtic fans discovered the role of an inverted left-back, it was a position crucial to the success that the Australian boss enjoyed in Scotland. Taylor even popped up with a winning goal away to Hearts as VAR arrived in the SPFL.
A midfielder at Kilmarnock, Taylor thrived in that role and continued to be first pick under Brendan Rodgers with Alexandro Bernabei quickly dismissed by the returning Celtic boss.
Tierney’s return has been confirmed, while he is saying his Arsenal farewells it is still unclear whether he will have Taylor as competition when he returns to Celtic for pre-season training.

Too good to let go. Could be a mistake in the long run.
