The club from Ibrox have used their favoured media messengers to condemn incidents during today’s Glasgow Derby.
Typically there is no comment on the club website or social media channels conforming that their ‘outrage’ is just another box ticking exercise.
Recently Paddy Stewart condemned the ‘Defend Europe’ banner that earned a two year suspended stand closure from UEFA, the CEO spoke out after the charges were announced and not at the time of the match.
Before today’s match a huge tifo covering the front and back sections of the Copland Stand carried an image and message that the club described as crossing a line, as unacceptable.
Sky Sports passed no comment on the tifo as they screened the match line.
The Daily Record, Sun and Herald all received the half-hearted memo with BBC Scotland reporting:
“Rangers Football Club condemns the actions of the individual who threw a bottle during today’s match,” a Rangers spokesman said.
“This behaviour has no place at our stadium. Steps have already been taken to identify the person responsible and the club will take the strongest possible action once their identity is confirmed.
“We also acknowledge that the tifo displayed prior to kick-off crossed a line and was unacceptable. Our approach to supporter displays has always been built on trust, with the responsibility placed on groups to exercise good judgement.
“We will reflect on how these displays are managed and engage with supporter groups to ensure the right balance of trust, responsibility and oversight is maintained moving forward.
“Rangers is proud of its passionate fanbase and we all share a duty to protect the standards and reputation of our club.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson told BBC Scotland: “We are aware of the banner and enquiries are ongoing.”
No action is expected by the SFA, SPFL or the Scottish Government where First Minister John Swinney is following the right-wing media crusade against KNEECAP.

Mealy Mouthed apology as they say,the bottle and the vapes thrown today could’ve caused serious damage but nothing more will be done AGAIN,it’s a weird feeling but we are used to it now, part and parcel of your day out at BIGOTDOME
The only reason there’s a statement is because of the (T)Fakeover
These cunts in the media should be calling it out straight after it happens not waiting on them releasing a shit apology before they start talking about it
Only a matter of time before one of our players gets blinded or worse at that dump
Nothing New..
A sharp striker like Kyogo would’ve emptied the place before halftime.
This midfield needs revamped hopefully with 3 better players to the group”
Left side defender. Centre back
Top Striker.
Just for starters..
Million dollar question is who can we trust
To bring these players in.
Lol the tramps at their best, fuckin paupers, not enough money to buy a packet of George Michaels and not enough money to buy a full bottle of Buckie, their benefits must have been cut.
