Adam Idah was one of the main talking points on the Trinity Tims podcast as they reviewed the on and off pitch action from Sunday at Ibrox.
It seems fair to say that Joe, Eric and James are all impressed by the Celtic striker although that verdict is far from unanimous among the Celtic support.
Starting his first Glasgow Derby Idah scored the equaliser in the 57th minute but that apparently wasn’t good enough for many fans.
Eric highlighted the comparison between Idah and Giorgos Giakoumakis, a well liked and appreciated Celtic striker.
Both had similar scoring records, neither were first choices but the summer 2021 signing seems to be respected far more than the former Norwich striker.
Idah has scored in three Glasgow derbies, three times in the Champions League, during his successful time at Celtic scoring in those fixtures eluded Giakoumakis.
James just wondered what is expected of Idah, sure he could have done more but nine goals on loan last season including one at Ibrox and a Cup Final winner isn’t too shabby. Sure he missed a decent chance in the first half- as did Daizen Maeda at the end but only one striker has been heavily criticised online.
With 19 to his name this season he could well pass the 30 mark which is decent going over his two stints considering that he missed out on pre-season training at Celtic.
The implications of Jota’s six to nine month absence are discussed as are the areas of the squad that need strengthened in the summer transfer window.
Off field issues at Ibrox were also discussed with the fake concern focused on a Tifo while anti-catholic and anti-Irish chants aren’t commented on by the obedient media as another bottle is aimed at a Celtic player.
James Forrest is in love with Idah. His blog is an embarrassment to him if he had the sense to see it and several of his commenters btl are getting sick of it all.
He does seem to score in vital and key games – But then he’s cost a vital and key amount of money as well !
I like big Adam as per usual the Celtic support need a player to abuse.
I’m not a fan I’m a supporter just like it says on the tin.
So you’re a ‘supporter’rather than a fan. Does that mean you would ‘support’ any useless article as long as he wore the hoops? That’s the kind of blind loyalty that you see at Ibrox. Have a read at Forrest’s latest fanboy drivel about Idah. According to him, he won us the league and Cup double last season. And here’s me thinking he only joined up midway through the season and ‘won’ the cup with a sclaff of his shin from a Bernardo rebound.
