Celtic are one of seven clubs credited with an interest in Moussa Baradji.

It seems a fairly far fetched notion that the 24-year-old is among Celtic’s targets but the initial story from Africafoot has been picked up by The Sun and the Glasgow Times.

A fee of €3m euros has been used in the report which represents a near 10-fold increase in value on last summer’s move from Italy’s Serie C.

Baradji was part of the Yverdon Sport side that was relegated from the Swiss top flight, playing in 27 matches with four goals and three assists for his efforts. Yverdon finished bottom of the 12 team league with 39 points from 38 matches.

Very few transfers can be completely written off with Africa Foot reporting:

According to our sources, the player’s profile greatly appeals to Régis Le Bris, Sunderland’s French coach. However, it will cost nearly €3 million to secure the services of the “Magic Left-Hander” from Yverdon Sport, whose contract runs until June 30, 2026.

Having enjoyed an exceptional season on a personal level, with four goals and three assists in 27 league matches played with Yverdon Sport, Moussa Baradji has already been approached by several European clubs this summer. Fiorentina, Parma AC, Torino FC, FC Basel, and Celtic Glasgow are reportedly after him.

Galatasaray are also among the player’s suitors, as Africafoot?exclusively reported in April.

It will therefore be difficult for Yverdon Sport to keep its Franco-Malian midfielder for much longer, after he was recruited last summer for 250,000 euros from the modest Legnago team, which plays in the Italian Serie C.

Lennon Miller seems to be the midfielder that Celtic are being heavily linked with, Baradji is six years older with a very different profile.

The Motherwell midfielder has made almost 60 first team appearances over the last two seasons, during that time Baradji has spent a season in the third tier of Italian football followed by a year in the Swiss League.
