The Daily Record has managed to obtain the thoughts of Dave Ancelotti as he sits by his phone waiting for a call back from Andy Cavenagh.
Now deep into the fourth month since Phil Clement was sacked it seems that the American mystery man is heading up the search for his successor.
All that we know so far is that Barry Ferguson isn’t wanted and that Mrs Gerrard calls the shots.
After leaving Real Madrid last Saturday Ancelotti went on a family holiday while his media team tried to stir up high level interest in the 35-year-old rookie who has never played or managed at senior level.
So far links have been created to Pisa and Deportivo La Coruna but closer to home one struggling Glasgow based publisher has pulled off a genuine scoop
DR desperately trying to get headlines…..”Ready to rock ” hahahahaha

Fraser Wilson opens his world exclusive to Daily Record readers with:
Davide Ancelotti has told Rangers bosses he’s ready to step out of his legendary father’s shadow and be a success in his own right.
The Ibrox club are set to make a next boss call on Ancelotti or Russell Martin in the early part of next week as the American revolution swings into action.
Rangers’ new US owners completed their takeover on Friday and are preparing to name their man after holding a final round of talks this weekend.
Ancelotti desperately wants the job and has put Rangers ahead of offers from back home in Italy including newly-promoted Serie A side Pisa.
Cutting to the chase he adds:
The 35-year-old has been assistant to his dad Carlo at Bayern Munich, Napoli, Everton and most recently Real Madrid. He could have followed his old man who has now taken over the Brazil national side.
But having mulled over his future last week on a family holiday, Ancelotti has decided he is ready to take the next step and become an outright number one.
It’s understood the fresh start under new owners Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises excites the Italian who has sold his Ibrox blueprint on the club in a series of interviews.
New sporting director Kevin Thelwell officially starts work on Monday morning – which will mark 99 days since Philippe Clement was sacked – and is set to make a final decision in the coming days.
And that’s about it.
Perhaps Wilson flew out to join Dave on his family holiday or spoke to ‘sources close to the Ancelotti camp. Or something else.
The story then peters out by name checking the other candidates in the running for the job alongside reference to the £20m transfer war-chest.
The takeover won’t be confirmed until after the June 23 EGM when existing shareholders will vote on a couple of changes which includes taking the club private.
With a £13m loan in the club and substantial shareholding in the club the thoughts of Douglas Park continues to evade the team at the Daily Record Sports Desk.
There is a distinct lack of moonbeams around today’s newspapers, the wait on appointing an elite manager and recruiting star players seems to have drained the enthusiasm of traditional cheerleaders.
That £20m share issue has got him excited lol ?

Will this name change to Ltd make them another new club?
Nope, change of name is permissible. Other clubs have done it thro the years. Although, I do get the point you’re making. However LIQUIDATION as in 2012, equates to a new club.
Similar sounding name but spelt differently…..
….R2ngers
The apprentice Anchelotti will be in France this morning ready to raid PSG to bring a few of their superstars from winning last night’s champions league final to ibrox on long term contracts,he might even persuade the winning manager to be his assistant.
Editor: During Daddy’s brief spell with PSG Dave identified and fast tracked the emerging superstars who are now waiting on his first move into management.
When they’re doing nonsense like this and Hugh Keevins is already sucking his plums
That’s when you can start putting your money on daddy’s boy getting the job
At a basic level, the boy Davide would have zero credibility in any senior changing room,
– and especially if/when results are not good.
Since they’re supposedly looking for a “Head Coach” now,
maybe an unknown candidate from America is another (cheaper) option? ?
editor could the current owners lend the americans thur shares to get the june 23rd resolutions passed with the proviso that the americans cover the 20 miollion share issue at say a penny a share then when the support start asking questions aboot no being able to ask questions the current mob can say american timmies dun it and ran away heh heh
Editor: We will see when the full proposal for the EGM is published, June 23 should break up the close season quite nicely.
None of this matters if BR cannot get his act together and dump the stupid endless passing game and get a decent midfield in.
For some reason Sevco struggled against the little teams but if the new guy can sort that out we could be in trouble as they skelped us 3 nil twice with two different managers Barry Ferguson being one for heaven’s sake.
The board and BR will have to be proactive.
It worked out ok in 2024 with a calendar year treble Charlie…
It certainly hasn’t in 2025 for sure !
