Matthew Anderson is the latest young Celt to quit the club without making a first team appearance.
The left-back came through the club Academy, earning three Scotland caps at u-21 level but is now on the brink of joining Belgian side Kortrijk.
Anderson will be out of contract on Monday with a development fee paid by Kortrijk based mainly on his time being developed by Celtic.
Without any real development plan Anderson had a spell in the Lowland League before going out on loan to Admira Wacker for two consecutive seasons.
Clearly at the age of 20, as Anderson was last summer it is better to move up a level but on September 5 with the Austrian Second Division well underway he returned to Admira alongside Ben Summers.

Clearly Anderson must have talent to attract an offer from Belgium on the back of playing for two seasons in the Austrian second flight.
Possibly back in summer 2023 was the time for him to stake a claim for a place at Celtic with Alexandro Bernabei struggling to challenge Greg Taylor at left back.
Celtic are now in the market looking for a back-up option to Kieran Tierney at left-back, clearly that won’t be Anderson.

I’m a bit disappointed that we’re not prepared to give him a chance, he’s looked the part whenever I’ve seen him and given our ongoing issues at LB you’d think he’d have been given a chance but clearly, the have decided he’s just not good enough. Time will tell, let’s see who we do get as backup Tierney.
Editor: The time was two or three years ago but the Lowland League then two after thought loans out to Austria killed his development/progress.
I won’t pretend to know about the boy.’s abilities …But I do know it’s another damning stat we could do without…Especially with CL rules about home grown players…Oh and had to fill in details again…Can you fix this ?
