According to Fabrizio Romano the speculation over Benjamin Nygen joining Celtic has now been converted to done deal status.

The Italian based journalist is the most credible of sources when it comes to transfer news, especially in these situations with strong speculation over the last fortnight that the Swedish internationalist is Celtic bound.

Anderlecht and Copenhagen seemed to drop out of the picture over the last week with all of the signs being that Nygren is about to follow in the footsteps of Henrik Larsson, Johan Mjallby and Mikel Lustig.

In more recent times Carl Starfelt and Gus Lagerbielke have played in central defence for Celtic, passing each other by a matter of days when Starfelt moved on to Celta Vigo in August 2023.

Nygren seems to be able to play in any of the forward positions with credible reports claiming that he is best on the right wing or as a number 10/shadow striker.

After being involved in international football until June 9 Nygren is currently on holiday which could delay all the social media content now associated with Celtic signings.

The friendly match away to Cork City on July 8 should be his first involvement with Celtic followed by an intensive training camp in Portugal that includes a friendly against Sporting Lisbon on July 16.

I know that videos can be ” flattering ” and misleading…But I got one popped up on my phone about Nygren…and he looks impressive…Hopefully the deal is done…and he plays like his video.

Couldn’t agree more, TN, I’m REALLY impressed with everything I’ve read about this guy.
He sounds, from available stats, that he was born to wear The Hoops. A real ball-player who knows where the goal is and hits it regularly. Assists too!
I can’t wait for the fitba to re-start after the annual intermission.
Also, can’t wait to see KT back in the Hoops and just hope TF he drops internationals.
Oh, and hope austerity ‘crucifies’ the new huns. When they get re-invented again it’ll be rangers the turd! I’m Atheist, don’t hate Protestants but despise huns old and new.
