A Greek Twitter account has claimed that AEK Athens will have to bid 10m euros to sign Cyriel Dessers.
That claim is bound to be seized on by the loyal messengers as they try desperately to offload the serial losers and create a transfer war-chest for Kev Thelwell.
Dessers was a £4m signing from Cremonese in the summer of 2023, during the season just finished he was booed onto, off and during matches by his own supporters.
At the age of 30 and as a top earner with two years left on his contract there is a real urgency to sell the striker who scored in all five post split fixtures- after Celtic clinched the SPFL title- to finish the season as the top scorer.
That fact is in danger of being over-used, so far AEK are the only side reported to be interested.

Having signed from Italian football Dessers wasn’t coming to Scotland for anything other than the money.
If there is no increase in salary he won’t be moving anywhere this summer, Greek clubs aren’t known for being high payers of wages.
Last summer five of Dessers’ team-mates were solf for combined fees of £810,000 despite reports that ARIS of Cyprus had paid out £2m for Connor Goldston.
According to Transfermarkt the record fee paid by AEK Athens was in season 23/24 when they shelled out 6.5m euros to Celta Vigo for Orbelin Pineda.

Ha ha aye right. As Allan Loveman says the rags are pretending 7 clubs are starting a bidding war for Igamane starting at £15m. Yet the same rags say Celtic could get £8m from Fenerbache for Maeda, hilarious.

Maeda and Idah through the centre and McGregor in an attacking role for starters and an insistence that there is more running off the ball. They have become so lazy with those 3 yard passes.
They need a new system or at least a plan ‘B’ and if BR is not capable of that then…
