Robin Propper is apparently wanting to see if he has a future under the Russell Revolution at Ibrox.
So far the Revolution has struggled to reach first gear, the start of pre-season training today at Murray Park will have a very familiar look.
During the closing months of last season angry bears took comfort in the news that there would be an end of season clear out, mainly of the exciting new signings brought in by Micky Beale and Phil Clement.
Propper arrived with all the usual hype, a highly experienced central defender, a leader, a potential captain with Twente left heart-broken by his £2m departure last July.
Little attention was paid to the fact that a run of the mill defender had never been capped at any level of played a single match of European competition.
An own goal on his debut set the tone, his biggest contribution to last season’s success was getting wiped out by Jack Butland early on in the Europa League tie away to Fenerbache.

Twente Enschede target Robin Propper will return to pre-season with Rangers this week.
The Dutch defender is the subject of a bid from his former club.
The 31-year-old, however, has still to make a decision on his future.
He has returned to Glasgow to resume training at Rangers.
Propper is still under contract at Ibrox and is expected to hold talks with new boss Russell Martin?over his future.
The centre half is waiting to see if he can be part of the new regime.
He is certainly waiting, waiting to see what sweeteners can be offered to take his skillset back to Holland.
Propper and his agent have a deal agreed with Twente, now they can sit back and watch his price tag hit the floor to get him off the wage bill.
A year ago Connor Goldson, Todd Cantwell, Sam Lammers, Scott Wright and Robbie McCrorie sat in tight as their transfer values hit the floor. That job lot eventually left Ibrox for combined fees of £810,000.
Ben Davies, Kieran Dowell and Rabbi Matondo will deploy similar tactics as they run down the final 12 pay days of their lucrative contracts.
They bested us all last season.
How embarrassing is that when you consider not one of their players would get into our starting 11.
There’s a motivation problem at Celtic along with a lack of grunt in the middle of the park.
Number of times in the last few seasons Ive watched the team just fade away in games after dominating for periods, its almost as if its like “ well we’ve tried all that what will we do now?”.

Rumours have it that Pishin&Fartin at sevco is waiting on the Club World Cup tournament to finish before he starts to splash the transfer kitty,as he is undecided what players he is going to choose to bring to ibrox from that tournament.
