Dave Murray may have charmed the media luvvies with his soundbites but online the former Rangers Chairman and owner has been completely trashed.
After 14 years out of the spotlight the man that was the glowing symbol of Thatcherism through the nineties was hard to recognise.
The hairline has almost disappeared, he now wears thick rimmed glasses all topped off with a big boozy red nose. Even the trademark white collar has gone.
During Thursday Murray provided a number of interviews to his favoured media outlets led by Jambo-bear Ewen Cameron.
Throughout all of the interviews there wasn’t a single serious and detailed follow up question as Sir Duped got off scot-free with BBC, STV, Sky Sports and others grasping on to easy headlines as Everyone, Anyone except himself was blamed for the administration, liquidation and death of Rangers.

Murray knew everyone of any consequence across Scottish business and media, if anyone was stepping out of line they would be leaned on in much the same way as a political party whip.
For more than five years Murray was looking to sell Rangers, everyone in Scotland was sounded out about it but wouldn’t touch it because of the dangerous set up created by Murray.
Eventually the trail led to Craig Whyte. He wasn’t a billionaire, his wealth was on the radar, his dubious business track record was known, he had already been banned for six years from being a Director of a UK company.
The selling price started at £30m, Whyte negotiated it down to £1 and inherited the shambles created by Sir Duped.
There are many mysteries surrounding what went on but one of the biggest is why Murray’s only court appearance was in the Witness Box for Whyte’s trial.
While in Court Murray’s answer to most questions was ‘I can’t remember’ now with a book to sell and looking for redemption in media circles he seems to have perfect recollection going all the way back to his son taking a call from Robert Maxwell.
He should’ve got more than 15 years for the litany of offences he perpetuated but he’s not alone there’s collusion with the game’s governing bodies as well, nobody will convince me that they didn’t try to support that club to the detriment of the rest of the league, disgraceful.

He should have gone to prison for tax evasion. He could have asked for his dad’s old cell!
