Worldwide race is underway for Ibrox ace Igamane

The worldwide race to sign Hamza Igamane is underway with the Daily Record leading the illusion that the striker is hot property.

It seems that clubs in England and France are leading the way, Lens are included in the list, the club that is about to pocket £4.5m from the sale of Oscar Cortes.

Being kind Igamane is unpredictable, clubs with sophisticated scouting systems won’t go near him despite the hype and spin of the Scottish media.

The 22-year-old has one international cap, coming off the bench for eight minutes in the game against Niger in March.

Igamane was left on the bench for the June friendlies against Tunisia and Benin, perhaps the ‘leading clubs’ looking at the Ibrox ace should be taking a closer look at the strikers keeping Igamane out of the Morocco team.

Undeterred by reality, the Daily Record informs their Army of Readers:

Reports out of France claim that new Gers boss Russell Martin will have a fight on their hands to keep a hold of the frontman ahead of the new season.

Foot Mercato state that Igamane is a target for seven clubs from the top tiers in England and France.

They claim that Everton, West Ham and Brentford have been joined by Lens, Lille, Rennes and Strasbourg in the race to land the Ibrox ace.

Lille are in the market for a new attacker following talisman Jonathan David’s pending exit on a free transfer while Rennes may look for a replacement for Celtic hero Kyogo Furuhashi, who is said to be surplus to requirements after just six months with the Ligue 1 club.

However, they add that Rangers are under no pressure to sell the forward and that an asking price of €15million (£12.7million) will have to be met to take Igamane away from Govan.

That last line is a cracker as the Record constantly bangs the drum over fictional interest in the serial losers accumulated by Micky Beale and Phil Clement.

After one season in European football, in which he started in 23 out of 38 SPFL matches Igamane will barely be on the radar of clubs in France and England.

An offer of £3-5m would be a real windfall for the troubled Ibrox club as they try to offload players in order to the Russell Revolution.

Have you noticed when the rag tabloid Record is reporting other people’s work , it tends to ‘ add on ‘ it’s own bit of news for it’s dozens of readers ? For example , when any item about Celtic FC being interested in a certain player arises , the Record always ,always continues the story with the classic ‘ several other interested parties are also keeping tabs on the player ! ‘ Meaning that it’s going to be VERY difficult to sign the guy ? Whereas over in downtown Govanlandia, the same rag reports any tale of theRangers attempting to buy whoever , is typed up by the scoop as if it’s a doddle done deal as no other club can compete with the Ibroxland clumpany , thus its a sublime piece of negotiation and business acumen of the highest kind !
