Brendan Rodgers has virtually dismissed any likelihood of Odsonne Edouard rejoining Celtic.
The striker was one of the kety figures during Rodgers’ first stint at Celtic but is badly out of the picture at Crystal Palace.
Going on loan to Leicester City last season turned out to be a disastrous move with no goals scored from eight brief appearances.
Edouard has a year left on his Crystal Palace deal but appears to have virtually no future with the FA Cup winners.
That prompted a French journalist to tweet about the prospect of being reunited with Rodgers at Celtic but that seems highly unlikely.
After beating Sporting Lisbon 2-0 tonight the Celtic manager told The Sun:
Odsonne hasn’t been on my radar, to be fair. I obviously know him but it’s about a player who will fit into the structure of the team.
Second half goals from Reo Hatate and Luke McCowan gave Celtic an impressive win, next up is a home match against Newcastle United on Saturday as Rodgers puts the finishing touches to his pre-season plans.

Another piece of crap reporting put to bed…Who the hell EVER thought this was a goer.?
Rodgers out to be looking for somebody who can score goals and possibly fit in the team as well!
The journalist possibly asked that question because we bought back Tierney, three years after we sold him for a very large fee!
Celtic are obviously a selling Club. People don’t like spending money and returning goods which are just out of guarantee!
I’m glad you ‘keep your eye on the ball’ Pal.
Kieran Tierney was only away 3 years? Try doubling that!
Opinions are, and will always be, just opinions. And clearly allowed.
Facts are a different kettle and should be, er, em factual.
If you fully understand the 5-Way, and wish to be helpful, just ask Nicholson (CEO) how he came across the 5-Way (and saw no problem with it) when the fat slug who appointed him had “never seen it”.
The said “fat slug” stated at the AGM he’d never seen the 5-Way which was emailed to him and Eric Riley, but not Nicholson, on the 26th July 2012.
Take that in and then ask, publicly, when and where Nicholson saw that fraudulent agreement. THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE, and I, for one, will continue to chase it.
If all our honest bloggers and supporters came together ther’s a distinct possibility to rid ourselves of not only the board of the plc but the major shareholder.
FRAUD is illegal and it’s not time-barred. And it has serious consequences when proven.
Hint: Ask what happened to Rangers FC (original) prize money for coming 2nd in the League in season 2011/12.
VideoCelts (that’s how I’d spell it) The ‘capitals’ as deserved.
eTims started out as Etims. I saw the error and got it corrected, many moons ago.
Never spell Tim without THAT capital T, nor Celts ditto.
I like attention to detail and especially when it’s Celtic FC.
Anyway, I see virtually no response to my oft propogated suggestion that Tims should angrily congregate and show the plc board first their outrage at being ignored and then to remove them.
I fu**in tried, how many of you have done just that. Or anything like that?
Certain parts of the Celtic FC supporters also support, incongriously to me, the plc board. Just how the fuck can that even be possible?
To see board inaction, actually weakening of our team with intent and do nothing. Those of you whom fit this bill, you absolutely disgust me.
REAL Tims are rebels. You sycophantic board fans, you disgrace the Celtic history.
You’re just as bad as huns grovelling to monarchy but instead you grovel to the leeching bastards who run our club. SHAME on you, SHAME on all of you.
Editor: There is a masochistic element to the Celtic support that moans and complains then gets dressed top to toe in Adidas kit to go to the Newcastle friendly then complains about every aspect of the club. On the plus side without any organisation it looks like 20,000 or more Season Ticket holders won’t be donating £25 for Saturday’s training session.
That’s another good post tictoc,I agree with you that the Celtic fans buy into everything no matter how much liewell and desmond shaft them,I just don’t get how loyal or GULLIBLE our fans are no matter how many times the board run roughshod over them, but till there’s a concerted protest/action and refusal to buy all the merchandise ,this board will happily carry on hoovering up the fans hard earned cash, take all their money and bonuses out of Celtic and never ever put a penny back in.I was just thinking the other day about liewell if he has grandkids do you think he actually buys them their Celtic kits or more than likely just swans into the shop and just take everything he needs of the rails and walks out.
Glad to see that you are repling to yourself, yourself!
There’s a certain masochistic element to that!
Editor, you won’t know how much that news means to me.
I often refer to Celtic FC as a sleeping giant and ultimately say that the sleeping giant is really our supporters. The plc grabbers are just a drain, leeches and unwelcome
Short, sharp shocks are often the beginning of major dissent and action and, for now, I’d just LOVE it if we were outnumbered by The Geordies on Saturday.
However, and take note, the 20,000 you mention will only see success if each and every one of them contacts CP and explains what they are doing and WHY. Ditto with those, like me, who’ve stopped buying merchandise and ordered my wider family not to give me presents from Celtic PLC. Leek THAT to the press and watch it be ignored as our supporters indolence and apathy play into their hands.
But, the POWER of the “sleeping giant” may just be waking up, waking up to the effect of the enemy within. GTTF!
You are away with the Fairies!
So, all the Celtic supporters who bought shares in the plc under Fergus McCann are
“Just A Drain, Leeches And Unwelcome”?
I am sure that they will be surprised to hear that!
I don’t keep my
“Eye On The Ball”
and I am not your
“Pal”.
Got that!?
Be glad when it shuts so I will…
That said – Glad it’s not shutting tonight for sure !
Glad he’s not coming. He was one of a few who downed tools when Celtic were going for TIAR.
Editor: He has been off it for a few years but before ‘downing tools’ Edouard had carried the Celtic forward line for two seasons, the actions of Lennon and Griffiths during Lockdown are far more worthy of scrutiny than a young French guy.
I’d have to add that scrutiny of just how the new huns ‘avoided’ covid would be worthwhile.
Sending supposed samples to east Belfast for ‘checking’ may just be part of it.
Of course, the fat slug at CP aka Lawwell, would have been in Lennon’s ear about “the importance of the (deceased) Old Firm and keeping ‘them’ and his boss Desmond’s hopes alive of making a serious fortune if Celtic FC and the new huns were somehow admitted to the wealth of the EPL. All truly sickening. But I’m a fighter…………
