Celtic fans are becoming increasingly agitated by the social media content from their club.
While Brendan Rodgers toils to explain and justify the lack of incoming transfer activity the club is ruthlessly effective when it comes to commercial activities.
Regardless of the negative reaction online Adidas know that they have a hungry audience desperate to throw their money at club merchandise.
If it has three stripes and a Celtic crest it sells, even more so if it looks decent sort of like the recently launched Roma kit.
None of the three kits launched this summer are very special, the third kit of ‘off-white’ is especially underwhelming but Celtic and Adidas know their audience.
While the kits and associated promotional activity is never ending Brendan Rodgers has three first team wingers with just 10 days to go before the start of the SPFL Premiership season.
The injured Jota isn’t one of them, he might be highly photogenic but fans would rather see a new signing promoting the latest humdrum kit than be reminded that they might not see the Superstar from Portugal playing again this year.

Inspired by iconic 90s Away Kits, the horizontal neon green pinstripes are a modern update to a classic club look ?

So far this summer Kieran Tierney and Ben Nygren have been added to the first team squad with Nicolas Kuhn and Greg Taylor moving out.
Others such as Shin Yamada, Hayato Inamura, Callum Osmond and Ross Doohan have been signed but are unlikely to be involved in the UCL Play Off tie in less than four weeks time.
The draw for the Play Off will take place on August 4 with Celtic seeded for the matches on August 19/20 and 26/27, the draw takes place before the Third Round is played.
Could i maybe buy it for £20? Considering that’s how you try and do business to sign players?

Can I go in to the store and low ball the £70 for the shirt then go back every few days till you lower the price to something I think is acceptable to pay? Or you could just get some fucking signings done and stop begging for money really starting to piss us off

No more kits will be purchased. Our club is falling asleep AGAIN

Bringing out pro versions of the top and selling for £120 aswell is embarrassing, selling fans kits that the quality is like tops from Turkey, how disengaged theses people that run our club

Lawwell is now a caricature of himself and unfortunately it’s rubbing off on the club.
He is like skinflint Tam in Still Game.
One of the kits I dislike the most. Its horrible.
Would rather see that as an all white a la Real kit with a more subtle green stripe.
But as usual the board suck us dry whilst simultaneously sabotaging the squad for profit.
I absolutely think that PL deliberately drags his feet to keep them within touching distance to satisfy all those who are invested in the “old firm” brand.
Other powers don’t want an irrelevant Sevco.
Nothing will ever convince me that losing 10IAR wasn’t engineered, I said 3 or 4 seasons prior we were heading for 15IAR or even more but then that abhorrence, that one anomaly.
In the seasons before or since there’s been nothing to suggest they are capable of a title.
Yet they beat us to 10IAR……figure that out.
Lol,I blame the fans. For all the shite that goes on over at sevco and the klub with their fans, they play a blinder with the strips, regarding the colour and the STAUNCHNESS behind the colours, hence the colour ORANGE forever making an appearance.
As for us with our board, they couldn’t give a flying F**K about the strip, the colour the design, only thing they think about is the colour of the money purchasing the items, anything else can go to F**K.
And that’s what the fans should be telling the board to do, but to many shitebags in our fan base to do this and call out the board with and by calling their bluff with a protest.
So as far as the board are concerned we can now just go and sit at the back of the bus while they take the piss and run away to the bank with all DOSH.
Good luck if you had been expecting some big time signings for big bucks,as long as sevco are scratching their arse with FREEBIES and nickel&dime players that’s the way we will continue to match them, can’t be having us going to far ahead and in front,it’s not good for the OLD FIRM £,a d don’t tell me the OLD FIRM are no more, big LIEWELL&CO are well and truly keeping that alive.
The last thing our club wants to see is those top halves of the stadium empty again and closed, that’s a lot of cash that ain’t coming in the door, don’t kid yourselves on Celtic need sevco and sevco need Celtic, one hand washes the other, hence LIEWELL in denial of that 5 Way Agreement.
Yes. Lowball Liewell the Nepo man has a lot to answer for.
Great post Joker, nail on the head mate.
who said this ?
=======================
It’s pretty straightforward. There will be players within our recruitment team that are not just for now but for the future.
“Clearly, I will look at those players and assess, and see if those players can come in and play. Then there will be other players we specifically need. It’s still very much joined up.
“I suppose it’s more around whether the players are for now or later. People know the model over a number of years. There are players who come in who are maybe not expected to hit the ground running, but some of them do.
“That’s what I need to assess, those guys coming in. But I also need to win now, and we need to get those players in. Either way, I will be responsible for that.
“Club signings, with the greatest respect, I don’t care where they come (from), I just need good players in the building who can help us win today, tomorrow and the next week.
“I’ve always developed players in my career, so I respect that side of it, but also the need for the present.”
Rodgers can understand fans frustration with the Hoops desperately needing at least one winger and another striker ahead of the new campaign – and the Champions League qualifier on the horizon.
He said: “I respect what the supporters are – I want players in tomorrow. But I understand the market and what you need to do to bring a player in.
“It’s not as easy as clicking your fingers. We all want them in at the start, absolutely, and none more so than the coach.
“But there is a middle and an end, and as long as you have them in by the end, it’s such a long season, so I’m very hopeful we’ll do that.
“I am, because there is a lot of hard work going on behind the scenes in terms of players.
“Of course, you look at our squad and you can see where there are needs for improvement. It’s pretty clear.
“The market is difficult in terms of timings and everything else. On the same token, we are only 11 days away from the new season and we want to get players in as quickly as we can.
“If you are looking to bring in a player that will improve us, the other club is looking to maximise their assets as well.”
Celtic have a pile of cash in the bank after the £17m sale of Nicholas Kuhn on top of impressive reserves.
But Rodgers is not demanding a bumper war chest as he defended last summer’s £26m trio of Arne Engels, Adam Idah and Auston Trusty.
He said: “There was a bit of focus around the players who came in last year and question marks around what they brought.
“For one, they didn’t set the price. But, two, Celtic did as well as they’ve done for a decade and those guys really helped us.
“Trusty was outstanding in the Champions League. Engels, his running power, was really helpful for us, he’s a young player who will get better.
“Idah scored over 20 goals and still has improvements to make. It depends on perspective. I felt we needed physicality and power for the Champions League and that really helped us.
“Those players have still more to develop.
“Whether a player costs £250,000 or £12m, I’m not really concerned. I’ve seen and worked with players who have cost more but others who have cost less but are much better players.
“I’m not really fixated on, ‘I need £10m, £15m or whatever’ – I just need quality players.”
The board and manager have known for months where we need to improve, this didn’t just arise at the opening of the transfer window, they’ve known for months and had months to size up and keep tabs on players who might be available but Rodgers and the board will tell they’ve not had time to do business,it doesn’t seem to stop that shower of shite sevco from doing business and they’ve fuck all money whereas we’ve got 80 to 100 million in the bank,go figure who’s pulling the wool over whose eyes.
The faithful come with strips and scarves. And then they loudly sing… Our Board sit in their padded seats… And all they hear’s…KERCHING
I’ve said it a hundred times Celtic fans deserve all they get by buying up all the merchandise and tat ,and snapping up STs before we know if the board are going to reinvest in the team ,we act like suckers ergo we get treated like suckers / mugs, has always been the way under liewell and dodgy desmond.
Whit you said Jim….
Too true, TN and here’s the thing,
It’s really bloody sickening.
But one day Lawwell will be gone,
Hope it’s tomorrow morn by dawn! 🙂
Nice one TicToc…
Exactly what do you get for your £75 for a Celtic jersey? The chance to walk around kidding yourself on that you are a football player! And being a free billboard for the dual evils of drink and gambling!
Not for me!
You’d be a lot better giving the money to Mary’s Meals and feeding ten children for a year!
