David Edgar has highlighted the inconsistencies of David Murray as the former Rangers owner and Chairman hangs onto his claim that he was duped by Craig Whyte.
Back in November 2010 James Traynor and Keith Jackson shared the good news that a billionaire from Motherwell with wealth off the radar was about to pay £30m to buy Rangers with a whole new generation of dominance around the corner.
They got the final part right but not as they had hoped.
While the Daily Record and every mainstream outlet remained on message it became clear on social media that Whyte was neither a billionaire or had off the radar wealth.
No-one in the mainstream was prepared to rock the boat, Mister Whyte was a man of dignity that had Celtic fans terrified as he prepared to carry on the achievements of Murray over the last 20 years.
Vanguard Bears, Follow Follow and other Rangers fan media outlets were all onboard with Whyte, even organising a protest against BBC Scotland after they disclosed what Whyte had once been banned from holding a Directorship in a UK company for six years!
So David Murray investigated @ibroxrocks before their first meeting and was able to tell him his Age, Employer and start date, Financee’s name and employer, and even their future wedding date.
But couldn’t find out that Craig Whyte had been suspended as a director for 7 years. pic.twitter.com/8hy9dNTqx1

As a young firebrand with the Rangers Supporters Trust Edgar was called to a meeting by Murray who had done his homework.
The former Rangers owner always liked to carry out background checks, he had details on everyone in Scottish media, business and politics ranging from their schooling to which football club they supported, all uncovered in pre-internet days.
Edgar was involved in the We Deserve Better campaign that brought scorn from Walter Smith, these days he is one of the leading lights in Ibrox Fan Media with a Press Box pass and access to media conferences.
Pressed about Whyte’s background Murray claimed that he only received one letter warning him that Whyte had been involved in something dubious involving a bus company.
Naturally the TalkSPORT anchor-man opted not to follow up on that answer, Simon Jordan contributed little to the ‘interview’.
I thought it was Dave King that was supposed to be the glib and shameless liar? Perhaps Murray found him to be a kindred spirit…
What have Harvey Lee Oswald and Craig Whyte got in common?
Murray knew exactly what Whyte was, he fitted him up beautifully.
Your last comment, Joe, is about a Simon Jordan interview on Talksport radio.
Is it worth trying to listen to said interview, if I’m able to find it?
I find myself agreeing most of the time with Mr Jordan, who I think talks a lot of common sense; hence my interest in the interview.
Absolutely spot on Berniebhoy.
Well said Sir !!
Say what you want about DD but thankfully he’s the reason rats like these don’t come near Celtic FC……
