Despair for Igamane as Lille close on on another striker

Hamza Igamane is preparing for the heartbreak of missing out on his dream move to Lille.

Last month his agents negotiated vastly improved personal terms to join the French club but that was only one part of the deal.

As soon as news of that agreement was made public the Ibrox messengers were all over deals for £15-20m plus significant add-ons.

Lille haven’t even bothered making a formal offer for the striker, at a real push they might have offered £5m but talk of Dembele Dollars killed any move stone dead.

The Glasgow Times reports:

The French club, who recently acquired Olivier Giroud, are keen to sign the Gers striker.

However, they are currently focused on completing a deal for Vivaldo Semedo.

The Lille interest in Giroud, a former Arsenal and Chelsea star, coincided with their pursuit of Igamane as a replacement for Jonathan David.

The France World Cup winner has since joined Lille, and L’Equipe reports the club are targeting Udinese forward Vivaldo Semedo.

With a second new striker on the way Lille can quietly ditch their plans for Igamane, they could be revived in January if things go as expected during the first half of the season.

As usual at Ibrox serial losers are turned into aces and stars during the close season as another Transfer Window Trophy is collected.

With Igamane expected to play second fiddle to Cyriel Dessers memories of Igamane’s brief scoring burst will start to fade along with the Dembele Dollars price tag.

Russell Martin takes charge of the Tribute Act for the first time on Sunday when Club Brugge visit for a friendly, none of last season’s serial losers have been sold despite the usual speculation.

Last summer five first team players including Todd Cantwell, Sam Lammers and Connor Goldson were sold for a total of £810,000.

Maybe that £810k windfall won’t be topped this season? I can see the tribute act turning down £5m if they can get that, they’ll take it and lie about the amount.

Wasn’t Martin in charge when the Welsh World-beaters (The New Saints reserves) stuffed them at Auchenhowie?
It’s pedantic really, I couldn’t care less who was there or anything else just as long as ‘them’, their fans and the SMSM keep providing us with side-splitting bullshit and poor results.
I wanted them pronounced dead in 2012 as they were dead and still want that same pronouncement now. But what a FN laugh they’ve been. Even when they knocked us out the SC in 2016 under Deila, what happened next? Aye, the Hibees fukkin hammered them in the final. Sunshine on Leith reverberated round Hampden and the scum and it’s followers said their team was attacked by Hibs supporters. More fukkin lies as Kenny Miller’s bird called it out. One of my favourite finals as it happens. Stokesie played a blinder and if memory serves me well, Liam Henderson (on loan from Celtic) took a late corner and David Gray (Hibs’ current manager) rose to head home and win the Cup.
Magical! Good on the Hibees and Hail! Hail! The CELTS!

Remember it well TIcToc – Was on the piss in Paisley that day and loved it…

Ma wee granny was a Hibernian supporter and NEVER seen her Hi-Bees win the Scottish Cup in all her 81 years !

I’m not dead sure where I watched it Clach, but I was definitely on the piss too.
Wherever it was will have a large indentation in their ceiling as when Gray scored I went up mentally as I do when Celtic score important goals and/or exceptional goals.
As I wrote that above, I remembered you’ve often mentioned your Gran and her being a Hibs fan and clearly how close you were. I was very close to mine as my wee (BIG) grandson is to his ‘Nana’. Tommy Burns’ book, Family, Faith and Football was a great read in terms of Family and fitba. The middle one to me is nonsense as I ‘believe’ ALL religion is. Ach well, we’ll mibbaes all find out in the end and if Heaven and Hell (preposterous really) exist, as a fellow Tim I’ll see you and yer granny in Heaven and introduce you to me and mine! And best of all, there’ll be no huns at all. They’ll be in that very hot ‘basement’! HH
PS We overcame those giants of Hampden, Queen’s Park tonight with, mostly, our development squad. The new huns couldn’t manage that in front of the ugliest, most horrid, foul fans on the planet and maybe that’s why! ‘Hell’ mend that scum.
Good night, I’ve a wee bit of drinking to do!

Oh, and now for tonight’s game. COYBIG!

  • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

Oh – The Igmony of it all for Igamane !!!
