    1. ? I wonder if they have that stencilled on the boardroom wall (they would actually pay for that!)

      1. No, apparently it says “World Class Board” on the wall…? 🙂

  1. It’s tough for the celtic board other clubs insist on a fair price for their players, don’t think it will catch on with this board they have an aversion to spending money

  2. Just stop mucking about with derisory bids as this only wastes time and reflects badly on our club. The young Danish winger looks like the real deal and the 6 mill € asking price would prove to be an absolute bargain considering what we got for Kuhn.

  3. Waiting to next year for the price to drop what is that all about? what if another team pay 6 million now then he won’t be for sale next year I thought this board were shrewd operator’s

  4. I’m wondering if the £20 million we shelled out for Engels and Idah…has caused them to stop and think this time.
For what it’s worth…I think we paid way over the odds for these two ( just my opinion )…and maybe…just maybe…they think the same.
    Just a thought

Editor: Just a thought- Engels, Idah and Trusty played key roles in last season’s successful Champions League campaign.
Just a thought- Holm, Tilio, Kwon, Yang, Nawrocki, Lagerbielke and Palma have contributed next to nothing, two have been sold at a loss with the others under contract till May 2028
Just a thought- a few messengers have painted targets onto the backs of big money successful signings and the pile on has followed.

    1. Straight question Editor. Are those two worth 20 million…??…That’s the point I was trying to make…I don’t need lectures.

      1. Straight answer is no they’re not but the editor doesn’t like any criticism of Brendan’s blue-eyed boys because it makes BR out to be less than perfect l.

    2. Yes and we bought each of those players who as you say, “contributed next to nothing”, anything from £1.5m to £4m – paltry sums compared to the profits for the likes of Jota, O’Riley, Kyogo and Kuhn.
Engels, Idah and Trusty who as you say, “played key roles …” each cost us anything froms £6m to £11m so why are we offering only £1m/£2m for Breum if he’s thought to be a replacement for Kuhn?
Is he not worth the £5m asking price, considering that if he’s that good we can turn a huge profit on him as well in 2/3 years time?

      1. IF he’s that good. What if he isn’t though and we get our fingers burned again?

  5. It’s just beyond embarrassing. How many John McGinns, CL qualifications and the like do we have to lose out on before the penny drops ffs??!! What’s the point of a football club having ridiculous sums of money just sitting in the bank? How much do we pay (unnecessarily) in tax that could have been spent on recruitment and squad improvement? Sure, we don’t want to end up dying bankrupt like that lot, but come on!

We have accumulated savings worth roughly our entire annual income and have topped it up with the sale of Kühn, some deadwood and windfall money from Frimpong going to Liverpool. If it’s not investing in serious upgrades to its stadium, what else can a football club do with all that money but invest in the squad? What else are you saving it for??!! And don’t tell me the training ground upgrades have swallowed it all!

Also, like it or not, £6m no longer buys you a Sutton, a Hartson, or a Lennon – £2-3m gets you projects and squad filler. Stop expecting top dollar for selling our best players and then expecting other clubs to give theirs away at charity shop prices. OK, do some negotiating, but ffs at least start with an offer that might actually get them to the table. These low ball bids we keep making are frankly insulting to these clubs and just means more of them will just refuse to do business with us in future as a matter of principle.

Maybe the clowns that run our club need to wake up, join the real world and smell the transfer market coffee. They have enough of our money to buy a cup!

    1. Brilliant post BriBhoy, this board are slowly downgrading our standing in Europe.

  6. Typical of this Celtic Board. They must be the talk of Europe with their penny pinching. This is getting beyond frustrating for the manager and the fans. We need that Board cleared right out of Celtic and a proper, forward-thinking and ambitious Board put in place. I am so fed up with reading about failed bids from Celtic.

      1. No – He’s fine sticking up for (and sticking it to Celtic when deserved)…

He was a disaster at Lincoln City !

  7. No wonder Dominic Mckay was on his way in jig time. His forward thinking ideas must have gave that lot upstairs the screaming abdabs.
