After 10 days of frenzied speculation over Hamza Igamane joining Lille the French side have splashed out on a proper striker- Oli Giroud.
Following a storied career in London, Milan and latterly Los Angeles the French icon has decided to return home, joining Lille on a one year contract.
Although no transfer fee was involved it will have taken a substantial commitment in wages from Lille with Giroud clearly their main striker for the season ahead.
Lille had agreed personal terms for Igamane but once the Scottish media started discussing fees of £15-20m plus world record add ons the interest from the French side suddenly waned.
Signed a year ago from Moroccan side FAR Rabat, Igamane is one of the lowest paid players at Ibrox with a contract that runs until 2029.

It is reported that Igamane’s agents have spoken with other French clubs about a move but after 16 goals for a Scottish club no-one in France is going to be splashing out on the Moroccan striker.
Having had his hopes built up for a move Russell Martin must get Igamane motivated for a season reliant on supply from Ross McCausland and Oscar Cortes.
In less than three weeks Panathinaikos visit Ibrox in a Champions League qualifier, after the hype over the takeover by the San Francisco 49GERS an early exit from the Champions League will put Martin under severe pressure.
